**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I mean you're getting rid of actual worthwhile assets, 5 of them to be exact, for the purpose of moving a bad contract only to take back another bad contract as well as bad players with the hopes of being able to move them for..wait for it..actual worthwhile assets. Not to mention there's so many 'ifs' that would have to play out that makes the whole thing even more far fetched and convuluted. All while helping a rival keep a player who you might otherwise be looking to sign in free agency in a year. I admire the way your brain works to even come up with something like this tho

If we keep the pick, it's time to start doing things with "assets" like the one I listed. Especially with them not being premium assets. If we had premium assets like Brooklyn's pick, then you have some ability to stand pat on it.

Black isn't here long term (can't afford him), the Bulls & Nuggets picks are really worthless to us going forward with the top 3 (2nd Round Picks have very little to no value).... The only thing we're actually losing is the Rockets pick (which becomes hard to slot into the roster with the Top 3), and the 2018 2nd which again would be even harder to slot into the roster, if we kept 2 1sts this offseason.

Pelicans are not a rival, and if Boogie is going to leave NO, he's already made his decision. Only a deep playoff run ( ) would change hat.

By trading Deng for let's just say Solomon Hill, you're trying to open more money for 2018 when you actually need it because after 2018, adding in Free Agency will be really tough. And in an even better scenario, let's say Solomon has a decent year, you can try to move him for a smaller contract to open even more money.

One of those 2 contracts, Deng or Moz has to be moved for a smaller bad contract..... As long as it doesn't involve DAR, JC, BI, JR, LNJ, IZ there's very little downside

Coulda swore we're still 2nd worst team. Yall are so damn dramatic

The suns really have no reason to be tanking so hard tho. They really don't need a guard and they own their pick outright

the suns arent winning again this season

they purposely sitting out all their good stars and vets to lose

so were gonna have to lose all of our games which doesnt look realistic because there are 4 or 5 winnable games left

if suns and lakers are tied record wise who gets the tie breaker?

we coulda been 2 games from drafting in 1 position smh

now were on the brink of giving up our pick to philly

we winning tonight and atleast 3 more games
