**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I don't think that's true at all. Bron old but he is still a money maker. AD definitely would have a robust market.

What type of package/tier of player you think it would warrant? At least with assets that'd be worth flipping them for.

Honestly at this point if say they both would be fine with going to Cleveland and Chicago respectively. I'd be fine with Garland and Lavine headlined deals with a pick attached for each, maybe add another rotation player for AD. There would be more teams that would offer stuff for AD though, I think GS would be a prime candidate with all the young talent they have.

This team is SOFT. From the top down. *gimme that Kobe to Dwight you soft gif*

There is ZERO FRICTION on this team and is why none of them could ever challenge one another.

Every one of these players is too damn nice and none of them have the balls to create a little bit of friction in order to bring out the best in one another.

Every single one of them, including Lebron the passive aggressive so-called LeLeader and management, I hold 100% accountable.

Makes sense but I just don’t trust this FO

So Cleveland should trade a young star in Garland who is leading this team into relevancy and who they’re prepared to give a max extension to for Lebron? :lol

Clarkson in the playoffs
Ingram in the Play-In
Zubac in the Play-In
DLo in the Play-In
Trezz in the Play-In
Caruso in the Playoffs
Lonzo in the Playoffs

:frown:
You forgot THE most important one: Javale in the upcoming NBA Finals and likely ring #4

And to rub it in to Pelinka even more:
Rondo in the playoffs
Gary Payton 2 in the playoffs

Nothing is promised but I’d like to run it back if possible. Which is kinda what I’d expect anyone on the team to say, except someone who was buried on the bench. But we’ll see if this quote gains any legs by the am

If you run it back , which i don’t mind, a few things have to happen.
1.) FIRE VOGEL & Hire Synder or anyone else competent and not named Doc Rivers
2.) There needs to be a serious conversation with Rob/Jeanie and Bron about the rest of the roster because this being cheap ain’t gonna cut it. The roster needs to be able to at least scape win together when the big guns miss games.
3.) IF RUSS PLAYS LIKE *** BENCH HIM OR TRADE HIM. HES A GROWN MAN AND MAKES $44M HE’LL BE OK

1) Vogel is as good as gone. The other part who knows

2) The assets are gone the money has dried up. I guess in a year or so they have to offer Reaves a new deal. Maybe decide if they’re going to spend the full taxpayer mle?

3) It’s hard to trade someone making that kind of money who’s not performing well. And if he is playing well then obviously you want to keep him.

I hear ya though. The people want change and not to go through another year like this one

LaVine is getting the supermax this year and Lonzo can't even play 60 games himself without his knee going bad.

Maybe we can get Caruso back though.

Russ for gobert? Lol

Let's be rational here....

They aren't trading Bron or AD.

Only hope is trading Russ for a combination of decent role players without giving up two first rounders to do it.

Never seen a championship window close so fast but our FO decided to retool a championship roster right after winning...which made no sense.

They just assume there is very high trade value for Lebron (who we’ll never trade unless he demands it) and the same player our own fanbase calls Always Disabled.

💯

Fans have this mind-boggling thought process where they simultaneously bad-mouth players but also say we should trade them and "sell high". You guys realize that every other fan base and the general managers have access to the same information we do right? 🤣

Honestly, championship Windows closing quickly is more common that you think

1. Showtime Lakers closed immediately when Magic got HIV
2. 90s Bulls ended immediately after the 98 season
3. Kobe and Shaq Lakers window and did with the Shaq trade
4. 2011 Mavs basically got rid of their entire title team within a season after winning
5. You have all of the LeBron teams in Miami, Cleveland and now LA

You have to know what you're getting yourself into. Teams go all in for a short title window and most the teams that do this never won a title at all. Look at the Nets and Clippers, for all of their investment, they have nothing to show for it.

Lonzo not in the playoffs because he is hurt.
Kuz nor KCP in the play offs or play in.

None of those players listed has a chance at a chip expect for one player not listed and that's Javale.

But I guess they would have changed how this season went. Damn sure wasn't the coaches fault.

Our window closing this fast feels different.

Seemed like the franchise was fine after the 2020 title but just a string of horrible decisions closed out window.

And while the Clippers and Nets have nothing to show for thier investment so far, they are in a much better position then we are going forward.

If you look at it, most championship teams over the last 30 years have basically been dismantled within 1-2 seasons after winning.

I agree that the window shut faster than it needed to. With smarter decision making from the front office and slightly better injury look and we would be a contender this season and maybe next season too.

Even for as flawed as last season's team was, if Anthony Davis doesn't get hurt against the Phoenix I firmly believe we win that series, make the finals and have a decent shot against Milwaukee.

I really can't blame front office for putting the 2002-21 team together. At the time, we were all calling Rob the GM of the year for the Schroeder trade and getting Trez for cheap. Basically every media member gave the Lakers 2020 offseason high marks.

They really didn't start screwing up until this past offseason when they made every single wrong decision.
