**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Good looking out E not much i even want...lou about to average 25 off the bench

DLo bout to suck even more, now that the Dollywood gonna be playing 32+ min a game. Let's see if those weak knees hold up.

You mind just dippin' out of this thread bro? Not sure what youre trying to accomplish or prove because none of us care about your personal life/financial situation nor your "sources"

I know its a forum and all, but youre clearly unwanted my dude. Unless you thrive on it then I guess go ahead..

Hopefully he gets minutes so we can all see where he's at right now
He plays tentative at times like he's worried he'll get yanked

If we are going to keep him, midas whale play him and let him develop

Just looking at Free Agency, we likely should stand pat, and not make any big moves...

Russell
Clarkson / Nick (PO)
Ingram / Deng / Brewer
Randle / Nance
Moz / Black (Non-guaranteed) / Zu

11 players, $20.492 mil in cap space.

Let's look at some of the names....

Paul Milsap - Just turned 32, very intriguing, and a good fit, but 32, and over $20mil a season is a disastrous combination
Danilo Gallinari - Will be 29. Good fit. But has only played 2 seasons over 70 games in 9 seasons... Can't commit even $10mil to a guy like that, even if he's good.
Kentavious Caldwell Pope - Would love to have him, Pistons will match everything
Andre Iguodala - Too Old
Shaun Livingston - Too Old
Kevin Durant - Not happening
Steph Curry - Not happening
Chris Paul - Isn't leaving
JJ Redick - 33 next season, can't be giving him a 4 year deal
Greg Monroe - Bad fit
Derrick Rose - Too much injury history
Serge Ibaka - Not worth big money.. Also no idea how old he is, and his game has started to tail off slightly. Doesn't bode well long term.
Nerlens Noel - Dallas isn't trading for him to let him go
Alex Len - Bad fit, and would need to pay good money for him
Rudy Gay - Unless he's like $5-6mil, no thanks to an achilles guy
Pau Gasol - Way too old, and a bad fit
Kyle Lowry - It's not going to happen at all
Otto Porter Jr. - Great fit, young guy, good fit.. Washington will match everything..
James Johnson - Fun fit. But is 30, and looking for first real pay day.

What that leads you with is
Blake Griffin
Jrue Holiday
Darren Collison
Gordon Heyward

Blake not happening... Gordon Heyward not happening.

Leaves you with Jrue & Darren, not sure I'd commit big money to either. So it likely is the same team next year.

Yikes. Free agency lookin bleak. You never know though, we might land a Blake or Heyward, not saying I'd want Blake (who can't win)

Best bet is to keep our pick and trade some assets later on

If we lost our pick.... Then I'd say, looking at Jrue very seriously isn't a bad idea... Or maybe George Hill, who I completely forgot about...

My guess is we keep Black (trade him during the season 2017-18).. Sign Swaggy to 1 year / $10mil. (Hope Pick is ours).

What I would do from there:

-And have $8-10mil left over for trades, taking on salary for picks... Etc. etc.
-Then Russell / Ingram /Top 3 pick... As close to untouchable as possible.. Likely add Randle to that list, but more get-able with a good return
-See what we can get with a combination of Clarkson / Nance Jr. / Black / Zubac / Rockets Pick... (Zubac, probably hard for me to part with tbh)
-Spend the whole year trying to unload just one of Deng & Mozgov...
-By 2018, Deng AND / OR Mozgov will be stretched (last 2 seasons paid over 5).... About $13 or so million if it were both.
-They go after Paul George, Russell Westbrook & DeMarcus Cousins... Try to land one of PG & RW... Hope DMC hates New Orleans

How they fill the roster from there is the question.

"Unwanted."

You think I gaf if any of you people like me. You think I'm here hoping to please people. LMAO

Like I said, Block me if you can't handle the heat.

We can either talk basketball or talk trash. I'm good at doing both.

The "heat" :lol who the **** do you think you are

I was just giving my 2 cents right quick. Feel like you get off on this **** so do you playa

Lou Will the leading scorer tonight.

Crazy. Hella happy for him.

This :hat

As much **** as we gave him for either bricking too many shots or taking/making too many and taking them away from our youngins, this dude busted his *** for us when he knew he was on a **** squad and a veteran. Wish him continued success. I think he was averaging ~18 for us? Dont quote me on that, but do you guys think him going to the Rockets helps or hurts his chances at 6th man since obviously he put up buckets for us/a bad team

What kind of stupid question is that...dude just scored 27 and has been a consistent scorer in this league for EVERY TEAM HE'S PLAYED FOR. You put Lou on the Warriors and dude would still score 17 per.

Hm. Because a lot of the dudes on garbage teams don't get the benefit of the doubt when winning awards. Not sure if you were alive yet when Jordan... **** maybe even Kobe, was clearly the best player in the world for a while yet didnt win the MVP every year that they were at the top of their game

Keep doin you tho man, you keep this thread even more active with your unintentional jokes

I really appreciate @wHipLAshTw03's contributions to this thread. Also, his huge accounts gives us all something to strive for in real life.

Keep doing you man.

Bro I saw him on the bench and was like damn, PP really going out like this :{ . Obviously I couldn't stand him when the Lakers and Celtics rivalry was rejuvenated, but I'll always have respect for PP especially being born in the Bay and then heading to Inglewood

LMFAOOO.....hahahaha....bruh I'm most likely old enough to be your father. Don't believe me? Test me. I watched the ENTIRE DECADE of the 80s brutha and watched MJ his entire career going all the way back to his rookie year. Not to mention, I still remember 80s-90s NBA as clear as the southern california sky after it rains.

Like I said...Lou been doing it for EVERY TEAM he's played for. Just like RICKEY PIERCE did, just like EDDIE JOHNSON did. Just like DETLEF SCHREMPF did. You ever watched the career of those players? Tell me, what were these three players known for?

Exactly. but just FYI - Ricky Pierce, Eddie Johnson, and Detlef Schrempf were all former 6th Man of the Year winners, scorers deluxe who put up buckets no matter which team they played for.

NBA History School be in session. Buenas noches.

Jerry West is my favorite player of all time, guess my age
Nice try. Let's see how much of a Lakers fan you really are.

The 1987-'88 Los Angeles Lakers did something UNPRECEDENTED in the NBA Playoffs that year. Guess what they did.
