**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

If I were Ingram, I'd go Mamba Mode and look to be aggressive offensively since his teammates don't have it in them

Dude tends to pull it back and "go east/west"

Exactly what Stu said. With Ingram's length, dude should be going north/south 100% of the time

And it's not just him
JC, dLo, NY, lou at times all do it too
Especially when the clock is like at 8 seconds

Those free throws sealed it

The moment Luke praises his team about professionalism, having the right attitude, and work ethic, they come back the next game and put up a stinker.

SMH

Empty your damn bench Luke. Once again, you failed to get your guys prepared for the second half.

BI the only one playing in the 2nd half
Everyone else can't buy a damn bucket

Moz kinda reminds me of Chris mihm. Will tease you with an athletic dunk or block, an occasional jumper or baby hook but is too up and down to be a starter

This was a bad shooting night, and it doesn't help that we can't stay engaged on D, oh well on to the next one, good to at least see BI continue to show some flashes

Tonight looks like an example of the Lakers "mailing it in" in the second half. Effort was completely lackluster the last 24 minutes of this game.

Juju has no touch around the basket
Always herky jerky , hanging in the air, air ball, too strong off the glass.....he never just flips up a nice jump hook or finger roll.....maybe he feels undersized and might get blocked

Every time we lose I already know whip is about to go ham in this thread

I can't stand it when Julius goes up in the air for a shot and his legs do this sort of scissor motion. It's as if he has no balance and his poor mechanics when he's shooting I'm afraid won't improve much no matter how much he works on it.

How we get blown out at home though after leading at halftime against a sub 500 team?!?!?

So frustrating

That Dlo Lillard scuffle turned the game around

DLo has no business trying to get a top 5 PG like Dillard mad. Especially when DLo ain't even the type of player who has proven he can play better when he's mad like Kobe and Jordan

But if he backed down and did nothing he's soft, right?

I was happy he didn't back down. Lillard is the vet so he stepped it up but I'm glad D'lo tried to go back at him.

He had a bad shooting night Julius had a terrible night all around. Ingram hit a couple of threes.

This one hurts but they'll start to pull these games out eventually.

Thanks for the update on the standings

My point is a team that sux blew us out at home, I know we suck too but still
We've lost to every other bad team in the league so far except Brooklyn and Philly, it's not surprising.

Don't get me wrong. I was happy he didn't back down either. But here's the problem. Nobody else on the Lakers stepped up after that scuffle. And DLo went one-on-one and started jacking up 3 after 3 shortly thereafter, essentially taking himself and the rest of his team out of any rhythm they were trying to generate. They were flat ever since.

You don't have to back down, but you can be more physical. And as long as you stick to the script and cater to your team's strengths you can still make an impact even though a scuffle ensued. DLo (or any other Laker for that matter) didn't do this.

As D-Fish just said, "The Blazers got more physical in the third quarter...and once that scuffle happened, I think the Blazers took a little more pride in their team collectively and they stood up...and the Lakers backed down from that moment."
