situation reminds me a bit of last season leading up to free agency.
Rumors spinning weeks before "LBJ will come if PG signs first...."
Days before: "PG and Lakers have not set date and time for meet" "Lebron going to meet with 76ers first"
Free agency starts "PG flying back to OKC.." "Lebron will not sign with Lakers without PG"
"PG signs with OKC #unfinishedbusiness" "Lebron may re-sign with Cavs, will not play with younger team, etc"
Person I followed closely last season during all this bs was Cuffs. Dude kept it legit the entire time, tell everyone to put their Lebron Cavs jersey away and that he was moving out west.

I wish it was that simple. It’s a chance to come home and build a dynasty. If you told me a year a ago would Kawhi consider our roster to build something I would say no. The situation is perfect for Kawhi, he needs to come.

Why come here and sacrifice your game, your status as the best player on the planet to essentially help one of the main guys you're competing against legacy wise win more rings. It never made any sense from the jump, and especially now that he won the chip as the lone superstar.

hometown and laker brand allure, and it'll help impact his brand a lot and playing with super star talent will help him save his body as well
it all honestly depends on what he really wants
and no one can really tell
pros and cons both ways tho
who knows what happens if he came here too
maybe it ends up AD being the third fiddle

He can literally do all that in Toronto. They let the man play 60 games and take off wherever he wanted. He's a deity in Canada right now. He'll be just another guy on the Lakers specifically because of Bron. If it was just AD then yea it'd make a lot more sense.
The only allure is maybe more money from endorsements. Basketball wise is doesn't make sense.

Yes I don't want Kawhi to come cause it won't result in other domination of the league for the next decade. Y'all sound dumb as hell. It doesn't make sense for Kawhi given his current status.

If he does then now is the time. I think that's part of why the D'lo noise is out there, kinda signaling that they'll move on if Kawhi doesn't come. PG was kinda implying that he would still have a chance to play for LA down the line but we see that aint happening

PG also coincidently has an opt out in 2021 as well if Kawhi ends up signing a 2+1 to get to 10 years of service as well (as many expect him to do with the Raptors). So technically they could both come home as Bron is likely going to opt out to take advantage of the over 36 provision he and CP0 pushed for in the last CBA.
