**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Finally... I'm live is slowing back down a bit.

Teaching And coaching HS while also having a newborn is indeed a lot, I miss my NT Laker fan.

:hat

Missed y'all, even E and CP, who I'm sure is too busy with his Cubs induced anxiety :lol

Wait what did I do. We're both teachers

While I certainly appreciate that, there are a lot of Laker/Dodger fans in here, that won't appreciate that. :lol

I don't wish to upset any of them in here at all.
You already did...but good series overall

I'm so glad we get to watch an exciting lakers team this year guys. 30 wins will never feel this good :smokin

Going to be really hard to get people into the rotation...

Randle
Nance
TRob
Mozgov
Black

Then throw in trying to fit Ingram & Deng.

And Zubac will stay in the DLeague.. As will Anthony Brown...

What I'd do:
Russell / Calderon
Clarkson / Lou Will / Swaggy
Ingram / Deng / A. Brown
Randle / Nance / TRob
Moz / Black / Zubac

Final Roster Spot goes to Yi... For no other reason than trying to use his weird contract as trade bait.. Which will ultimately fail

Cut Huertas because Calderon is the same guy.. But Calderon will also shoot a ball if he's open.

OR cut Anthony Brown because even in a best case scenario, there will never be a spot for him on the roster.. If Luol got hurt, Swaggy will take those minutes.. Same with Ingram... And if you consider moving Brown down to a 2, which is unlikely... Clarkson & Lou take every single one of those minutes.

Just an interesting aside for the Lakers..

Lets say the Lakers really wanted to go all out in the trade deadline.

Yi $8mil
Calderon $7.7mil
Lou Will $7mil
Nick Young $5.4mil
TRob $980K

All contracts that we could afford to deal.. $29mil+ in salaries.

And the team trading for Yi can cut him, and get out of most of the contract

@EricPincus Aug 23
Unofficially but if my Yi incentive date is correct, he could be dealt at deadline as an $8 mil contract, cut by incoming team at $804k

Use that contract and other assets (attaching Lou or Nick or TRob + 2nd Round Picks) go after a DEFENSIVE backcourt player that we could bring off the bench, and need in the years going forward.

At this point I'm ok with cutting Brown. I'm afraid that another team could turn him into the Danny Green of a few years ago but he has a much higher chance being the current Danny Green, if that.As E pointed out, you have to keep Yi and Calderon for their contracts. Its down to T Rob, Brown and Huertas.

Ehhh with Ingram & Deng and Randle & Nance, There's no way we could develop him into anything, even if we wanted.

So there's no reason to worry about it or feel bad if another team can tap that well

I see AB getting cut with Meta.
Just added that because they likely won't cut Huertas... He'll probably end up staying here for like 4 more years

marcelinho the GOAT to wear #9....jk

yeah AB aint getting minutes if he cant knock down shots like uncle P has.

AB has been extremely disappointing.
That whole "3 & D" rep he had in Stanford definitely did not transition well to the professional realm.

The defense maybe a bit, the shot tho... :x
