**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

We've run 20 distinct lineups, coming into tonight

10 have a +, 10 have a -

Of those 10 - lineups... 7 have Deng playing SF.

Of the 5 Deng lineups that are +... Only the typical starting lineup (Russell/Nick/Deng/Randle/Mozgov and Russell / Nick / Deng / Randle / Zubac feature Deng at the 3)

Unless you trade Nance, and I wouldn't advise that. You have to get Deng out of here.

Can't trade deng until when?

December 14th.

My idea was hope Rudy Gay still really wants out of Sacramento... And they still see the need to press ahead, and try to turn the ship around before Boogie can leave.

If they know Rudy is going to leave, and they don't think they could sign a guy of equal skill to make up for it, it maybe allows a lane for a deal.

Deng + Lou Will + Tarik & A couple 2nds

for

Rudy Gay + Koufos + Anthony Tolliver

Deng slides Cousins to the starting 5. They finally can start trying to play WCS, and see if he develops. Cousins can also slide down to the 4 to let Black get time as well.

Barnes at the 3, and can now move McLemore up to the 3 for longer stretches, where he was significantly better last year because Lou Will is there.

We get out of Deng's contract, have an actual SF. And a better quality backup Center.

Dunno about that trade, but I'll be monitoring every rumor about Deng next week.

Nobody is giving us a damn thing of worth for Luol.

Mozgov has 3 + lineups and 7 - lineups...

Of those 7 - lineups.... Deng is the SF in 5 of them.

The other 2 - lineups are...
Clarkson / Lou / Ingram / Nance / Moz
Calderon / Clarkson / Ingram / Deng / Moz

Gotta attach Lou Will with him...

The only way it can work is if Rudy Gay continues to say he's not staying in Sacramento.... Or reaffirms he's not staying.. That could force their hand a bit.

If you're playing Luol at the 4.. And add Lou.. It's actually a solid haul, especially for a guy you know you will be losing

Based on PTS per 100 possessions

Moz : 3+ , 7 -
Black : 2+ , 1 -
Zu: 1+
Randle: 7 +, 5-
Nance: 3+ , 3-
MWP: 1 -
Deng: 5+ , 7 -
Ingram: 6+ , 6-
Lou Will: 5+, 2-
Clarkson: 7+ , 5 -
Calderon: 5-
Huertas: 2-
Russell: 6+, 1-

They trade Lou. Midas whale go in the tank forreal he's by far been our best player this season.

Nance & Randle can work on both ends.... If you really force the tempo offensively.

A 4 & 5 can never really keep up with those 2 at the same time.

Not necessarily.

It depends on where your return slides in, and how it shuffles things around.

For whatever you lose from Lou Williams, you gain by getting Deng out, and no longer playing the 3. The detriment of Deng at the 3 is pretty big

If your return is a quality starting SF, then you actually are the better for it.

Because you can still have the slack picked up by Clarkson in his actual role.
