LA Area deputy shoots boy carrying toy handgun

from the information available, the cop didnt make a mistake, the cop did his job.
QFT.

I know some of you hate cops, but damn, take those blinders off.

15 year old "young adult" pointing a toy handgun,

. What the hell was this kid thinking? He is lucky that he didn't get shot multiple timesand that the deputy only shot him once.

I don't see any reason to find the Sherriff at fault from the information we have.

Why does it sound like some of you automatically assume that the cop was wrong? Why does the kid pointing the gun have to be made up? Are some of you that influenced by some of the rap albums or movies you've seen?

We don't know how old the kid is, so even though most of you might picture an innocent five-year old kid on a bike, that might be wrong. If you're gonna point an object resembling a gun at some cops, they aren't gonna come inspect what it is because you're a kid.
Lol movies we've seen? Yeah this %$#% don't happen in real life huh? Word to sean bell or ol boi in the bay that had his back shot upwhile he was on the ground hand cuffed. Now this is definitely a different situation then those so I'm not gonna try and be on that whole "damnpigs" stuff right now. No where in there does it say the kid is 15 but if in fact he is that old he should know better. I don't know about yall but Iwasn't taught to fear cops as a child. My mom had no reason to teach me that from the kinds of experiences she had with them. So up until I had my firstencounter with them around 12 I thought stuff like boys in the hood was just made up. So you guys saying blame it on the parents and all the parents areignorant don't know about the situation or on the kids upbringing so don't really see how you came to that conclusion. Maybe the cop could'vehandled things a little bit better but out of everyone involved I think he's the least at fault. I mean dude was called in expecting it to be a gun it aintlike the kid reached for his wallet and the cop got shook. If it's a small child I don't see why the first thought of the neighbors is to call thepolice instead of coming out to make sure the kid don't hurt himself or someone else if they thought it in fact was a real gun. They couldve stuck theirhead out the window and asked what dude was doing or something. That's if he was a child of course if dude really was 15 that changes the wholeperspective. Then yes the blame lays entirely on him unless he has some kind of mental problem if he does the parents should have been watching him a littlecloser.

Those of you questioning the kids actions, should also question the cops story as well.

For personal reasons, I believe the cop fabricated the story about the kid pointing it at him.

However, if the young dude did point the gun, I feel sorry for him, but I can't go too hard at the cop.

Is it supposed to be "get shot first mentality"? Or when the kid pointed the gun at him was he supposed to ask if the gun was real before shooting?Be realistic man.

smh...wow and you're supposed to be a trained professional? but you cant tell between a fake gun and a real one?...smh at this cop...serve and protect my%#%

thats crazy...think about it tho,if you seen someone whether it be a 30 year old or a 8 year old pointing an all black gun atyou, i mean i would assume your first natural reaction would be to shoot back, im sure most of us would do that, to say otherwise would be ignorant....

a lot of ways to look at this topic tho..

I wouldn't want the majority of the posters in this thread to be cops around my way... SMH
