I would say 2002 Playoffs is when Kobe became the best player. TMac was a close 2nd for a couple years. Up until about 2010.
And stayed Top 5 until the achilles injury.
What's crazy about Kobe is that his stats from age 22 to 34 are almost identical. He was able to stretch his prime to over a decade, and probably had a couple more legitimate All Star Seasons in the tank if not for his achilles.
