It annoys me that people come to the defense of the bullies. Seriously, how messed up is that? It may not seem like you are defending them, but suggesting that we have emasculated people to the point to where they don't defend themselves is suggesting that bullies don't have any 'blood on their hands.' That's wrong to me. If you look at the world we live in and the opportunities people have to be be bullied even when not actually around others, you can understand how bullying doesn't just stop the moment you are out of the bully's physical reach. Instead of thinking bullying is the problem, you chalk it up to men not being men and the need for thicker skin. Who cares what you went through whenever you were in school? How is that even relevant? If you think that the societal problem is lack of masculinity, you are blaming the victims...not those who should actually be blamed.

Anyway, it is so hard for me to comprehend how and at what point suicide became so prevalent with teenagers. I'm 30 at this was absolutely unheard of when I was growing up. Yet, I have little brother who last year at the age of 13 was having a lot of anxiety in regard to grades and studying so much so that he finally told my dad that he had completely thought out how he was going to hang himself. I know this has nothing to do with bullying but it's just the point of teenage suicide. It's all just so damn sad.
