Just quit my job vol. how did yall quit? UPDATE PAGE 5

BROOOO

i fking HATED GAP for this. worked at gap in college for like 1 semester. this was like 2008. they wanted us to push gap cards mad hard, and the managers were gassing up the comms over who was putting in work to get people to sign up.

like yo **** u want me to find wild success to sell people on credit for clothes during a financial crisis?! yo gap can SMD lol. i was seasonal hire so they let me go while i was on vacation lol.

never touched retail again
Yea I tried retail for a bit when I was younger but never could last more than like a month or 2 at any store…All the extra bs they make you push but NOBODY ever gets is wild annoying and that folding busy work was pissin me off…Just walking round re folding things 20 times all shift  :smh:

Quit my teaching job
Was over all the politics and bs
Opened up eBay store
Going great so far just I know I have to put more hours in to get where I want. I’m a month in so Wel see

Man, I thought I was the only one that felt that way working in retail. I remember working at Finish Line and the manager kept pushing us to sell accessories. Most I did was mention the buy 1, get 1 deal on the socks lol.

Some hate their home family life.
I worked with a guy like that before. Dude was always asking me and this other guy what we did over the weekend or if we wanted to get drinks after work and watch the game.

Nah im good, go home to your wife and kids man. I dont even like talking to you at work, damn sure dont wanna spend any time around you outside of work. At least at work i justify that im getting paid to talk to you

I like most my co workers even my boss. Dude always has my back even when I get pissed off and act ignorant.

I kick it with two outside work but we don’t talk about work. We have common interest outside of work so it’s all good. Plus one I knew before work and I got him the job.

I don’t kick it with anyone who isn’t a lowboy driver like me though. we do our own thing. We’re not trying to know the other employees.

Always the ****tiest, lowest paying, least rewarding jobs that try their hardest to drain the most out of you. Hell you need micromanaging and busy work for this simple **** for?
Just left a position like this this week. No notice, effective immediately.

Place full of Trumpers and good ol boys. Could only deal with it for so long, especially being the only black person at the job :{ the micro aggressions, boomer boss who can barely type in his password, etc. Finally had enough of a grown man talking down to me as if I'm not a human being.

Man my job is not terrible, decent pay, team and boss but I had to think about the last full workday I was happy (the work didn't matter). Couldn't remember. That might be a life thing, but at the same time I remember having a ball and cracking up with the crew at worse jobs.

I worked in Macy's for like 3 months in 2013. NOV - JAN ...

I actually did really well in retail , i got somebody to sign up for a Macy's card at least 2x a week. They would give 25 dollars off and percentage off with every sign up and you could stack them to buy stuff... I even had this old lady buy me a pizza the day after Christmas cause I helped her buy her husband some stuff. She said he loved everything I picked out and that's the first time he was ever happy with her purchase.. they were like in their 70s.

I would thrive in retail at anytime. On my last day I almost got into it with a customer who was being really disrespectful... I told them to meet me in the parking lot at the end of my shift... they never showed up..... 😆 🤣 😂..

we gotta get in on that crypto/forex/binary/day trading. it’s typically mlm and scammy but i do know people legitimately murdering in those spaces, like 8-9 figures murdering.
