For those planning on keeping their kicks on ice for a while I would suggest removing the paper that came with the shoes. I feel like that can mess with the patent leather on the toe since it's so flimsy/thin. May be stuff the shoe with something soft like a sock to keep the shape. Sounds ridiculous, I know lol

I'm in on these for $180-all-in or less. I have 2014s that I still wear and like, so these aren't any wild need for me right now.

Of course not but it’s a big factor. The most mass produced shoe of the year is still selling like crazy and will eventually sell out. But just saying these would see faster at the $200 mark. I don’t think JB cares because a slower sell is the same as a day one sell. Also they think they are slick with the camping out marketing campaign smh. Yeah those days are done!

I'm not sure if you just got into sneakers but downturns in the sneaker market have absolutely led to discounts on retros and price adjustments One example, GR AJ 2s were once priced at $190 (post-2015 "Reimagined" price increases) and Nike/JB adjusted the retail price to $175 to move them better.
Hell, in 2020-2021 damn near EVERY Air Jordan 1 OG High retro was selling out at retail and going for resale (even trash cws like 2021 Electro Oranges were fetching $200+ and 2020 Bloodlines were $300+ at resale at one point lol)
Nike/JB saw this and didn't want to leave money on the table to they increased retail to $180. Can you guess what happened? People didn't want to pay that retail price and, since they also increased stock, most if not all AJ 1 OG High released nowdays can now be had for WELL under retail, even from JB themselves at outlets and on NDC sales.

I can't understand how these have worse materials than the 2014s..
Like how is it possible, given how low the bar for materials was already on those and this is their flagship retro release for the holidays-do they just not care anymore?

I just compared the Proof laces to my Cool Greys and they're the same lol did they switch up just for these 11s or? I haven't purchased 11s since '21.

Yeah they definitely aren’t the same for me. I haven’t gotten laces like this since the first retros. I had gotten in the habit of washing the laces to fluff them up but it always made them shorter.

Got it, yeah I was kind of disappointed when I got them in today only to see they were the exact same but I'm sure I'll use them after wearing my 11s. Replaced my WC 3 laces about a year and half in.

I looked at my cool grey laces after I seen what you wrote. Mine are definitely on a diet lol. You may be one of the lucky ones that got a nice pair. You know JB is never consistent lol.

I remember getting the penny 3 in 7th grade and let a friend try them on at the time. He started “testing” them and was doing some super aggressive jab steps. I told him chill and he kept doing it. I fought him got suspended and my mom took the shoes back

When these Columbias dropped, I got them for my birthday. This girl in my wood shop class saw I was going out of my way to keep them clean, she walked up and stepped on my toe because she thought it was funny. After class I was about to slap fire out of her *** but opted to be a gentleman. Instead I found her twin brother in between periods and fought him in the hallway.
