The patent leather in mine also has a grainy texture. Like they’re also covered in dust as well.Got my pair in. Quality is awful. Creasing is awful. They're also covered in dust or something.
The 'patent Leather' is thin/flimsy and creased up out of the box.
I've never been more disappointed. Even on foot they feel different compared to the Gratitudes. It's almost as if they're missing something on the inside that goes to the support.
Used a gift card on them but they're 100% going back.

Saw this pair on twitter and it Doesn't even look like Patent Leather, just looks like regular leather.

Mines are LN4M. Luckily whatever dusty debris is on the patent leather came out pretty easily with a Clorox wipe.

JB cares more about profit than they do putting out quality retros.
It’s not like they can’t do both, they simply choose not to, while raising prices.

The key these days is grabbing a good pair. These are great times for me. It’s like it’s 94 again. Og heat sitting at retail. Dunk contest pairs championships pairs etc. I’m grabbing multiples of everything cuz this won’t last.

I never double up, but it may not be a bad idea with these. Might need an extra pair I can pull out and stare at after the other pair turns to raisin after one wear. Joking, but I’m deadass lol

JB has been having quality issues my entire existence as a human. This includes the OG’s if anyone wants to be real and not a prisoner of the moment. I’ve had OG pairs with all kinds of wild inconsistencies, pre yellowed soles, you name it. Now we can say that there has been times where quality was at all time lows (‘06-2015 comes to mind as the all time worst Jordan Brand trash retro era) but the difference with the modern era is there has never been a time when we had so many microscope boyz dissecting every stitch, thread, and crease in their pairs. Folks were just happy to get a pair once upon a time.
…with that said that pic of that patent leather issue up there is absolutely not acceptable. **** is wild that actually got put into a box.

Jordan quality has been so incredibly poor this year. This is a grail shoe for me. Nothing else I really want as I have all the pairs I want. Excited to get these and take a break from this brand for a while. Those photos of that creased up pair or horrendous.

Good thing about nowadays is who cares if I get a trash pair. These are gonna sit like everything else. I’ll easily be able to get a good pair if I really want one at retail or below and make a return.

OG Jays had way better quality, you’re trippin if you think otherwise.
Joints weren’t perfect by any means, but opening that box (lol) hit way different with OG’s and earlier retros.
And comparing these to recent 11s ain’t sayin much either, as those have been trash too in comparison.

The later jordans had plenty of quality problems. Gotta separate materials from quality. Both taxi and cherry 12’s separated at the toe cap for me. Pods came unglued on the 13’s. The teeth feel off my 14’s.
Give me a break the quality control was ever good on Jordan’s or anything else from Nike. Smokin crack.

Qc has always been bad. The level of quality materials has went down drastically and that’s what some people are mad at. Rightfully so. However they’ll never make them like they used to.
It’s a give and take because they made small detail improvements like a cleaner more defined jumpman stitched in but took 10 steps back with all the other issues.
IMO we’re getting the best and most accurate retros ever currently even down to the box. Yes they can always improve.
