New balance has factories in the United States that can produce and release sneakers at their leisure. Nike found out during the shipping crisis during the pandemic that they rely too much on importing products. Having a product that you can not guarantee you can deliver is bad business. Nike infrastructure isn’t as sound as you may believe.Decisions like the one to limit a beloved product to the masses reinforces that I know absolutely nothing about big business. Why can New Balance do a preorder but Nike can’t?
I’m not buying that Nike doesn’t have the infrastructure to make it happen and it would limit the pairs sitting. Even if they over produced to account for uninformed, wouldn’t it still leave the brand in the black?
As a person that fully planned to buy multiple shoes this year, this just makes me want to buy less.
It is not a guarantee that they can make a high quality product and deliver it as a GR.
If y’all only knew the amount of heart ache it took to produce that useless suitcase for the Jordan 17 lightnings you would understand why it was super limited
