Jordan Retro 1 '85 Black/Red Feb 14th 2025

I'm on deployment to [base X] and I haven't seen a whole lot of kids rocking jordans that aren't travis at all. Really, all the kids is wearing is slides, crocs, vans, yeezys, white/black forces, panda dunks, and running shoes. So I think the jordan hype is beyond repair with ages 25 and under. We not going back to 2020, we def ain't going back to before that, no matter how they think the limiting is gonna work. Bearing this in mind, nike shoulda just released more of these. And this ruined any hope I had for them Royals that are supposedly coming some time in the future and those UNCs. Honestly this kills my hope for any OG coming this year.

So when this (obviously) fails to bring back hype to 1s, what's next?
Like what is the end game?
Make everything limited to give the illusion they are selling so retailers will demand more product vs them sending all their stock back to the Factories cause it ain’t selling

 If it gets to that, then it is what is is. I have more than enough shoes, and have owned some type of variation of like 90% of Jordans that I want. The older I get, the less I care tbh. Said I was retiring at the end of this year (except for certain OG colorways) anyway, and decisions like this make it far easier.

10 pairs is crazy!! :pimp: 👏 What a come up.

My outlet only had 1 release total, and it was strictly 1 pair per person. I brought my girl so was able to get 2 pairs. I remember some dude had a wig and got caught getting back in line.
 buddy with the wig.

My outlet and 30 miles away Chicago outlet, was word that those 2 were the ones that had received the most pairs. Had peeps from surrounding states all in there.

Decisions like the one to limit a beloved product to the masses reinforces that I know absolutely nothing about big business. Why can New Balance do a preorder but Nike can’t?

I’m not buying that Nike doesn’t have the infrastructure to make it happen and it would limit the pairs sitting. Even if they over produced to account for uninformed, wouldn’t it still leave the brand in the black?

As a person that fully planned to buy multiple shoes this year, this just makes me want to buy less.

 Backtracking and making no sense.

It matters directly to your false statement lol. You said they sat at all outlets. That is false. Now you're mentioning a release date?.....which nobody here even brought up.
I didn't back track on nothing, the point just flew over your head. They had no release date, so saying they sold out instantly makes no sense. YOU can only speculate when the outlet actually received them, YOU only know when YOU got word they had pairs. As for the outlet I frequent, they sat on the back wall for at least 2 weeks, about 50 pairs. I know specifically because I went a lot.

Each outlet got a release date. I remember this clearly. We all knew in advance. It was discussed right here on NT. There was no speculation. They didn't just pop up randomly. Obviously any restocks were more random but what you're saying is not correct. My original question, was which outlet did these sit at? And it sounds like YOUR outlet...which is what you should have said from the start as well as which outlet it actually was. Instead you made a generalization for all outlets across the country.

There was most definitely a list on release date for banned 1s. It was on here on NT, list of locations and release dates. They didn't just randomly drop them. Early 2011 (February) was when they surfaced, dropped in mid June.

Naw. You made a generalized statement on them not sitting simply because the store you shop had campers. They actually popped up in a few outlets before June 1st, like Portland. But it’s all pointless, this information is as useful as nipples on a male.

Quote me where I made a generalized statement of them not sitting.

I asked you 'where' they sat....and you said everywhere. My whole point in this, is that was simply not true.

What’s all this reconstruction talk like the 85 model hadn’t existed for the last 3 years???? Sure they’ve been tweaking the model to get it right, but it’s looking more apparent the brand definitely cutting a check to content creators to restore their aura. Retros will only take you so far Nike….
