This all over again

I hope so. How many of y’all got 2016 / 2013 pairs on ice just waiting to be worn? Is this one DRASTICALLY different to be worth 3-4x retail or the endless headaches of trying to cop?

Peace & sanity > for me.

Especially for something that i already have in a sense.

So they can make two undefeateds for no reason at all but we can't have 1 limited and one less limited version of these???? 23 stores, are you ****ting me.

JB is going to be able to contain product when there’s only 23 stores. It’s just like the titanium 23 drop. They will have representatives from the brand bird dogging all 23 stores and their stock.

In JB's defense, they've been making improvements on the shapes of many different silhouettes and giving us classic cws but y'all haven't reciprocated the love, instead, choosing to let many releases sit. Hype isn't gonna build itself

So WE are to blame because we don’t “reciprocate” the love? I’ve been here since 89 and I have been showing the “love” ever since. I know I’m not alone. That’s why we’re here.

If it’s good I buy it. It’s a case of two little to late for many and I can’t blame them. This is a desperate move from a desperate brand.

It's a 'you scratch my back, I scratch yours' type of thing. They've been trying to cater to "real sneakerheads" but they're seeing it's not as profitable as catering to hypebeasts/resellers.

Maybe if they gave us decent quality on products without jacking up the prices stuff wouldn't sit. Paper thin Columbia 11's but wanting $250 for them? Russian Roulette Bc3's?

The problem is Nike / JB spends years releasing countless numbers of ~almost there but not quite~ **** *** colorways…

By the time they actually commit to dropping the OG pairs that sneakerheads were begging for those same sneakerheads had already gotten fed up and moved on…Meanwhile Joe Schmo off the street looks at the OG drops as just being more of the same old same old…Simply put, the sneakerheads found other pairs that drew their attention and Joe Schmo got bored with more of the same…Everyone moved on and as a result Nike is sitting back scratching their heads as to why nobody is buying their **** anymore?

How does Nike / JB react? Keep churning out that ~almost there~ crap then limit the OG pairs, instead of ya know - just cutting out ALL THAT CRAP…No reason this pair should be ultra limited while some almost there black / red Jordan 1 mid is collecting dust on shelves with Nike crossing their fingers that everyone will go FOMO and just buy the dust collecting junk…

Never mind the fact that Nike has almost completely stopped innovating and the whole resell culture around sneakers is slowly dying off…Those are whole different topics…

Agree to disagree. I feel catering to hypebeasts is what put the brand in the situation they are in. They could easily drop collaborations that are limited and pulls in the beasts and resellers. Make OG color ways with the same attention to detail for those of us who have been here and make them AVAILABLE. I can deal with the price point.

Nike knows exactly what we want, they're not dumb.

Exactly. Was just having this convo with someone. Make the backwards swoosh, flowered covered, bedazzled bull **** as limited as you want. OG colorways should be plentiful.

If Nike wanted to make more money with Jordan's they'd close the damn floodgates and stop having 30 (mostly garbage) releases per month. 4 OGs per year, one for every season, done well and actually close to OG cut and shape, mass produced and then maybe 5-10 great, slightly limited retro+/non-OG colorways per month. So on and so forth. Wall sitter specials will always be there because not everyone is causally dropping $200+ on shoes, but at least this way people wouldn't be so overwhelmed by all these big releases and the big releases in question may actually sell out.

On top of Nike flooding the market, another issue is that fashion trends have changed. Jordan's are no longer the instant sell out shoes they were 10+ years ago. I think Nike needs to reduce the amount of releases and try to find the sweet spot, production number wise, that would allow people to get pairs with ease while still allowing them to sell out and not sit on shelves, which they seem to hate yet do everything to make happen. Making a shoe like this a resellers wet dream is so counterintuitive to what they're hoping to achieve, it makes it clear the top brass at Nike and JB have brains smoother than the leather they're using on these.

I'm no business logistics major or whatever so maybe I just sound dumb but in my head, this makes sense.

If Nike makes these limited I might be done with sneaker game. I'm not og sneaker head. First pair of Jordans I purchased was in high school and that was the Jordan 7 Raptors. Couple years later I'm making good money and started buying all the Jordans I wanted. After buying sneakers for 10+ years, I'm getting tired of not being able to cop Jordans I really want. I used to put in the footwork and enter all raffles. Now I only enter raffles online because when you get older your priorities change plus you have work, family etc. If I can't cop these for retail and the resale is 400+ I'm gonna be upset. I used to look at new balance as lame shoes but they are comfortable and way less of a hassle to get a pair. Am I gonna be the guy that wears new balance. Or I might start rocking Nike Air Monarch. I sometimes feel like Nike doesn't deserve my hard earned money

Stick a fork in it already then.

As someone that worked at a store that had Titanium 23s, this is true too. :lol
