JAMES BOND movie thread: RIP Sir Sean Connery - NO TIME TO DIE 10/08/21

I think it's a good casting but isn't Tom Hardy a little old? He's 43 now, let's say he's 46 by the time the first film comes out. He's already pushing the older end IMO. That's one of the big things you have to consider when casting a star for a franchise, you've got to think a decade ahead. Are you going to want him to be in the role in his mid to late 50s?

Pierce was the only real Bond for me. Suave, gets the girl, uses tech, always wins. The one with Halle Barry, the hot British chick, frozen car scenes and face off technology was the best. Don’t remember the name.

wasn’t a huge fan of him as bond or his bond movies, have him slightly ahead of Timothy dalton for 3rd

Sir Sean Connery > Daniel Craig

craig has my 2 favorite bond films and my favorite Bond villain thou

I gotta assume any mention of the Pierce Brosnan era as top tier Bond is just nostalgia talking.

Watch the movies again. They're good enough, perfectly entertaining, hardly more than a 7/10.

Yeah its probably nostalgia talking because there was a lot of silly **** in a few of those movies  . Still good enough though

brosnan is kind of a good mix of campy and serious so it appeals to a lot of fans as those old movies has campiness in them too while the current bonds tends to be more dramatic and serious

Wait which Bonds have you been watching your whole life?

craig was 38 in casino royale and hadry looks way younger than he does now at 43

I thought you guys were just throwing names around and discussed Hardy for a bit. Just saw the post saying he's the new Bond. Shocking to say the least.

Very specific look no matter how good Hardy looks in a suit and clean shaven. This is about to be one of the more brutal and rugged Bonds with his short and a bit stocky frame.

As much as I want to see it, I don't think they want to risk it getting pirated

if the studios get paid upfront by a streaming service, would they even care?

if that becomes the norm though, its pretty much the final nail on the theaters

I guess the box office gets divided up differently.

Cuz I assumed this Bond movie at the very least would have a 500 mil box office.

C2A getting 125 mil os a great deal simply cuz you dont know for a fact how well it would do in theaters but if the offers for Bond are like 200 mil ot even 300 mil I don't see how that's enough.

500M!?!?

If they gonna try and charge $30 like disney did for mulan then no thanks.

Well no, I'm talking under regular circumstances and that was a conservative guess at the very least.

What I'm saying is there may be an upside to waiting this out for when things return to normal to possibly make a billi like I'm sure they were assuming when they were making this.

i mean the movies budget is supposedly $250m before marketing, most expensive bond film to date
