Album is good all the way through. I don't give a **** about any negative reviews especially from dudes on NT, will cop on the 18th

Thought that was the only logical reason why it was getting so much bad reviews from Cole fans.

I undetstand tho Kendrick made a classic :smokin

You need to look at it in terms of the artist.

Cole is different than Lamar and he made a veryyyyy solid album

so why wouldn't I expect a classic?

Maybe my expectations are too high for Cole and he isn't capable of making a classic any time soon....

Or maybe his label isn't giving him the freedom he needs to produce a classic

whatever it is, only time will tell...
 
These NT reviews are hilarious... Dont believe the hype this is a very good album. What I learned after several listens is that he is regretful of the compromises the forces that be put on him on the first album. He doesn't seem to thrilled with that album. Shots a Jay throughout the album 8o ???

He is definitely sending shots a jay in this album I'm not even mad.

Exactly.

People just ignore the fact that the Record Label has invested a lot of money in these artists.
They want a profit in return.
Even though he is his own producer, like he said in a few interviews there are a lot of rules and research that go into single choices that most of America doesn't know about. There are things behind the scenes that we just dont see. People that make decisions that we'll never know about. Samples that don't clear for songs we'll never get to listen to.

A lot of factors that go into albums.
None of that matters for his mixtapes.

But all in all even though this album isnt perfect, and i understand its lack of appeal for people looking for catchy radio type tunes... its still very solid rap, and very solid hiphop that we just dont hear much of anymore these days.

Kendrick has spoiled America :lol

Listened to Crooked Smile finally and its a good second single. That chorus catchy as hell, excited to see what's in store. 10 days

Listened to the whole thing in the whip. Decent. Kinda boring. Will get old very fast, But there are some nice songs on it. I let bas down is dope. She knows too.
 
It sounds better in the whip I'll give it that.

Funny because huge Cole fans like myself dont really like the album. I told a lot of my friends (who aren't Cole fans find him boring, etc) to listen to it and they actually liked it more than I did.

QFT...except I think its better than decent its pretty good. And GKMC has nothing to do with my opinion on cole's album. It would be foolish to compare the two bodies of work imo.
 
Off first listen, I was actually really impressed.

I'll have to listen to it a couple more times before I give it a final review.
 
This thread is torture, still holding out and skipped pretty much every page since the leaks dropped. The 18th cannot come soon enough
