I gave in and listened to ONLY the first track, Villuminati...

Wow.

Cole is straight SPITTIN HOT FIRE.

DAT FLOW, DOE. :x :smokin

If thats an indication of the album then i might not even give a crap about hooks or anything...
But Thats ALL for now...

I might listen to another song tomorrow.
Im trying my best to stay strong and wait a few more days... :{ :lol

What year did GKMC drop?

Never mind that was '12 right?

Yup. Feels 3/4 months old at the most.

The Nas/Jcole comparisons are on point. I would love to hear dude on other production styles. Maybe some help from Krizzle...

Every time a Cole project drops I give it a d/l and listen but something about his music just doesn't do it for me, can't put my finger on what it is though.

Villuminati is NOT how the album sounds. That track is easily one of the best & has the most energy out of all the tracks.

I'll probably give it a listen when a high quality version drops... ive alread pre-ordered multiple copies.

The leaked version isn't some 96 kbps stream quality stuff, it's 192kbps. Is that not sufficient to bang out till the 18th? Like another poster said, settle with the 192kbps leak and rock out the CD rip on the 18th.

You must have some high-maintenance ears :lol.

I just wanna give his production a fair shake with all the mixed reviews.
I dont want it to be some choppy rip off of the stream he did yesterday... :lol
It's not like im saying it HAS to be actual physical CD quality... but i want it to be better than a stream off some radio waves.

F*** It I'm listening to the next song LAnd of the Snakes... BornSinner.com has a good stream.
I'll decide if i wanna keep going after that....

**** it Im gonna listen to the rest...
This is a good enough stream.
Who was I kidding? I cant hold off until the 18th... :{

Let's GO.

I'll be back in 60 minutes.

I already pre-ordered it so I don't feel bad downloading the leak :lol but I'm really digging it so far (10 tracks in), his production is muuuuuuuch better than on Sideline Story....so far Trouble, Mo Money, Runaway, Rich N_____ are my favorites already liked Crooked Smile and Power Trip...LAnd of the Snakes is very solid too... can't wait for Forbidden Fruit :smokin

YO... YOU DUDES REALLY DONT LIKE TROUBLE!?

OH.

MY.

GODDD... :eek

Song slaps like hell... who the hell said this is a boring beat?

Dat Choir :smokin

After sitting with this version i have I cant fully cosign shoeking review.... I am on record in this thread not being crazy about Cole beats and I dont think the production on this is on some next level type steez but it doesnt all sound the same like he said imo.

First of all Power Trip, Crooked Smile and She Knows (Fav so far) are all CATCHY and different from one another. The melodies on the Villumaniti and Rich N are catchy as hell too... man its just so much lil stuff all over the album that I absolutely love...the more I listen the more i like it more and more.

However by the end of the album, It does lose its youthfulness (besides from Aint That Some) and turn into something I would say, more laid back and mature, or what some of you would call boring I guess.

Speaking on the production overall, its different and improved for him but its not anything that will have people saying they HAVE to have a J. Cole beat. But I gotta say that the production quality or lack there of doesn't really overshadow other aspects of the album to me... Its a dope album man.

I can sit here and say that its nothing skippable on this album and be completely honest but at the same time I can see someone saying that it may not be deserving of any RAOTY nods. But Cole is known for making music that u eventually end up reallly loving although u may have been lukewarm on them at first

but on either side i feel like its still waaaaaay too early
