ITT: Everything Electro/Dubstep/House/Trance Music

So much for seeing Armin on NYE. $190 for the cheapest ticket (General Admission, that's with fees) :x .

I know NYE events are always more expensive, but that's crazy, #1 DJ or not. I spent less on a single-day pass for Electric Zoo 2011 :lol .

I'll just wait it out and see Armin at the end of March for ASOT600. Probably will hit up Afrojack and company for NYE. I wanted to do Sander at Pacha, but it's going to be dumb packed.

What are you all doing for NYE?

Pretty sure any top DJ you see on NYE is going to be dumb packed lol. As for Armin, I can pretty much guarantee he's doing a 4-5 hour set.

Ellie Goulding (produced by Skrillex) - Bittersweet

song caught me off guard. usually when i hear skrillex im like no thank you but he toned down the brostep style for this so i like it.

Eh I wouldn't consider Orbital techno at all but to each his own, keep in mind that album came out in like '92 or '93 and trance was totally different back then. The whole genre classification thing is too much with this music :lol

Yeah but Pacha of all clubs is not fun at all when it's packed out. May go there for after hours, we'll see.

You're right about Armin, he's playing 4 hours (11:30-3:30). He said 11:30 start because he wants to be there for the ball to drop.

I wish I can be in all three places at the same time.

Any Arty fans in here? He's uploaded some previews of his new single "When I See You" over on his SoundCloud.

http://soundcloud.com/artyofficial

If that song was released without anybody knowing what artist it was, you could say SHM, Avicci, David Guetta, Swanky Tunes, Tommy Trash produced it and nobody would ever argue against it.

That's the problem with electronic music nowadays, IT ALL SOUNDS THE SAME. There is absolutely nothing original about that song.

I wouldn't say everything sounds the same, but similar. Guetta sounds like whatever was cool a few months ago, Avicii has his classic synth sound, etc... I understand where you're coming from, and I agree, but Arty does have his own sound, IMO. This new single might not convey that as much of his older work.

NOT feeling that new Arty. I seriously don't get how those kind of songs have been taking over the scene, **** is mad cheesy.

NikeTalker23 I wouldn't count Tommy Trash as one of those kinds of dj's. I just saw him at the Haunted Mansion tour and he really surprised me, dude actually does work on his decks and played straight bangers outside of probably 2 songs. I haven't check for Swanky Tunes in a minute but I don't remember them making **** like that either, I could be wrong now though.

You might be right but the point is that everything flooding the scene is too similar sounding and not enough originality is rising to the top. I find myself having to dig deep as hell over at Beatport to find good music. Traxsource.com is where it's at btw, nothing but good music.

I feel you. I'll have to check traxsource out, I usually just hit up Beatport for minimal/tech house and techno nowadays. Still some decent electro house on there but you gotta dig for it. 1001tracklists.com is cool for finding out what your fave dj's are dropping or have dropped, helped me find some great songs.

why is this thread so dead....

my dudes... i also went to the haunted house tour.... you already knew what time it was when they came on. on the low though baueer might've been my favorite set that night.

Easy is such a great track. Mat Zo has quickly became one of my favorite artists this year, and Porter is always firing on all cylinders.
