I remember around when the Lil B/Pack song came out "Got my vans on yadda yadda" Vans were hot then. But the past few years they've definitely made a resurgence, everyones wearing them guys and girls.
The black/white sk8s have kinda become a staple just like the white-on-white AF1s were back in the early 2000s. But imo people prefer Vans to AF1s, SBs , Adidas superstars etc for the simple fact that they're cheaper, you dont care if they get beat up & also more versatile with various fits
Streetwear is moving away from Js and Nike bball Retros which has kinda been a long time coming

I may be in the minority but I hope (and think) Vans will leave the Dickies line alone. They're perfect the way they are, IMO.
The parent company that owns Vans also owns Timberland and a few other companies if I'm not mistaken.
