When you pay through a website, it always goes to paying for goods and services. Sometimes sellers who will try to sell on the side send an invoice with a 4% discount if you pay as a gift (you have to click the gifting to family and friends option) is a trick. A seller will charge you 4% more if you pay through paypal as a good or service because that's the fee they get charged by paypal. Trust me, the protection is worth the 4% charge up. Not everyone charges you more but some sellers try tricking buyers by offering a discount if you gift the money. Remember, there is no paypal buyer protection when sending money as a gift. Make sure to always take screenshots of what you're purchasing and save conversations that you have online with the buyer. Always make sure the seller writes that the shoes are 100% authenticate and has everything included. You might get stuck with something you didn't want if there is something that is missing in the description and you didn't ask the seller to clarify. Keep records and proof of everything just in case paypal asks for it for their investigation. I buy and sell on ebay all the time. The key is to always do your legit checks and check the sellers feedback. I always take the shoes I purchase from ebay and do a legit check at my local foot locker or sneaker shop. If they end up being fakes, you just file a dispute with paypal and they walk you through everything.
