Aaanyways.
I can only imagine how crazy expensive your overhead is for Post
But yeah, wholesale > retail
Not as crazy expensive as you'd think.
Wholesale isn't necessarily better than retail, or vice versa. The way we see it, they work together. Retail makes sense for us because we are so control-freakish about our brand, so we have the stores to provide homebases and anchors for the company.  It kinda starts from there and trickles out to our wholesale accounts.
They do work together only because you guys at TH do a great job at balancing both but majority of the new folks who open shop do so only because they think it's the cool thing to do. (they can always blame you when they fail

I wonder if Collins (The Darkside Initiative) has anything to say about Huf SF closing down.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for your Paparazzi 2 entry. I need to replace my first one and I wanna know if it's worth dropping $124.

Honestly, who cares?
The only people I ever used to see going to boutique urban clothing stores were hypebeasts and bops.

Word to thehundreds.

Don't get it either. What's with dudes needing to be coddled by retail employees?

It's called customer service.
If you feel the need to be greeted when you enter maybe you should be shopping at Walmart and not Huf.

It's not about "being greeted." Customers are doing the business a favor by coming in and spending their money, it's simple business courtesy to be friendly to them.

Thanks man.
You know what, I'm home tonight and tired of working. I'll blog my Paparazzi 2 entry right now and it'll be up in a few hours. Trust me, worth it!!

On another note...

Aside from the closing of Huf in SF, I think a more relevant question is.. What happened to sneaker culture in the Bay? I always looked to the Bay to be the hub of the sneaker-collecting universe, but it has tapered off dramatically over the past 5 years. Why do you guys think that is? I have my own theories, many attributed to Nike itself.

While, customer service doesn't necessarily entail being greeted at the door, I would also feel slightly offended if I was walking around in the store for ten minutes without a worker saying a thing.
