Yes, you should back up your phone regularly by syncing it w/ your computer AND through a program. At home for obvious reasons and through a program just incase you ever have to hard reset while you're out and about. Another reason is if your phone breaks and you have to change phones while away from yourcomputer.

Those are the only three whose name I remember. I believe I used PIM Backup because that was the only name I recognized in the Kitchen (program used to makecustom ROMs).

excuse my ignorace...ive been using a sidekick for the past 3 years and im going to switch over to ATT this next week with the family. Im not accustomed to allthis ROM talk...but what are these roms u guys speak of? how do they better your experience with your phones? are they complicated? and is the HTC Fuze worthgetting compared to other ATT phones...cuz it seems rather expensive. thanks in advance

I talked to the Sprint Rep at BBy last week and he said its gonna be going down to $99 with new plan/ upgrade soon... im thinking about returning my SamsungRant and getting it.
If i dont get a Data plan is it still worth it? What advantages are there assuming i do get a data plan? etc...

thanks for the heads up. apparently good for those upgrading to two years service, otherwise crap out of luck for guys like me finishing up oneyear. but can you believe that?? save 550 was it on the best buy ad scan. thats complete bull.. 550+200 = 750 for a phone that retails at 579!!
got off the phone with sprint sales person and was told the TP is out of stock till who knows when.

would this work if i add a brand new line to a family plan?
and i see that it says New York in the thread. does that mean it only works in NY or would it work in Miami?

It'd be worthless without a data plan. Most of what it does uses data, the gps, the Sprint tv/radio, the weather tab in TouchFlo, the internet, the emailaddress/Outlook application. It's a smartphone/PPC, not one of those phones just for texting and talking IMO. If that's all you need, I'd get oneof those "cute" type phones like the Rumor or something

Man mine does this stupid thing now where whenever I type something, it comes up on the screen in an extra box with black background and highlighted, showingwhat I type highlighted as I type it. I don't know why it started doing it or how to stop it. I messed with the input settings in control panel, nothingseems to work.
Is there a battery drain on this?
During normal usage, I was down to like 1 batter bar....no wifi on, just phone radio and data from the regular sprint network. I had checked a couple of webpages (google + gmail and WSJ), but I close opera when I'm just texting. Like, no programs are running and my battery is getting sapped.

Is the pro the same as the diamond except for the Qwerty keyboard?
Im thinking about getting the diamond cause qwerty isn't a big deal for me. which would you guys say is the better phone.

You should take a screen shot to PPCGeeks or even here. It's not the spelling/word suggestion box, is it?
Pro = expandable memory via memory cards
Diamond = 4GB, not expandable
Pro = physical QWERTY
Diamond = virtual QWERTY
Pro = flash for camera
Diamond = no flash for camera
I believe that those are the only differences.
Re: battery drain issues, I believe those are fairly common among Sprint PPCs out of the box. They're usually cleared up through tweaking found on PPCforums like PPCGeeks and XDADevelopers.
After holding out so far, I'm almost positive that I'm going to hold out for a phone with a larger screen. I just hope that one is coming soon.
