Yes. He is. I don't care about your opinion on this one, because if you don't think so, you're just straight up wrong.

That is what the roster should look like next year and beyond. Damn perfect.

I expect Farmar to take over the starting role eventually, maybe late next season, and have Fish play fewer minutes and all that stuff. A little B Shaw in hisgame eventually.

Kobe shouldn't need to go balls out for 80 games a season anymore, though he should play in more playoff games each year then he has the last 3. So intheory, he should save a little wear and tear on himself while the rest of the team does more heavy lifting then Laker fans are used to. Since Kobe is adriven man, and wants to not only try to get more rings, but also his individual goals, he should play high level for at least 5 years, with maybe 2 or 3 lowerlevel years to get his credentials up.

They need to start locking a few guys up to make sure this roster reaches it's full potential of growth and development. The only thing that could derailall this is either injury, or players getting lazy after the contracts though. So hopefully, we can sign everyone, but still keep them hungry and improving.

Do it Mitch.

when the Lakers trade him to Miami..then its a sign that he's no longer a top 5 player

Low blow but hey, he might not be a top 5 player then, but MiamiMIGHT be the top team in the NBA...if only for a year, lol...And Kobe is smart enough to be able to switch his game for when his physical gifts leave him. He's studied and copied Jordan enough to realize he'll have to go to his fadeaway and jump-shot more as he gets older. Jordan came off a long lay-offand still was, at least, a top 15 player with the Wizards so Kobe should be able to be in or around that area for at least a few more years. And honestly, thats all he needs to be if he's surrounded with the right talent. Jordan was leading the Wizards when he went out, if he had of went to a team (or builtone) with better role players and a better system, he would have made the playoffs...

I'll give him 5-6 more years. It's hard to believe he's still just 29 cuz he'd been in the NBA since I was in grade school...

Can't wait for next year, with Andrew back in the lineup.

As for the question, I see Kobe playing well for another 5-6 years. As mentioned earlier in the thread, it would be hard to imagine Kobe not dominating theleague anymore because he has the desire and the motivation to always be the best. However, that day is going to come, and when he retires, along with thoseother players, it is going to be a very sad day.

until he retires...

Kobe is cerebral...AND he has killer instinct and work ethic...those two aspects cannot be taught.
