Realizing the source of this article is the National Review so I can't say for sure if they are twisting the words of De Blasio admin's but if this is true, this is really irresponsible. I support the protests, attended some myself but realize there can be serious consequences attending.

I have a little more peace of mind because I had the virus and have antibodies but can attest this virus IS NO JOKE. I don't know how you balance corona and the protests but ignoring if Covid positive people attended a protest is HIGHLY irresponsible. Protesters who attended the protests have the right to know if they were potentially exposed. We can't have this both ways when its politically convenient to ignore and enforce proper tracing of the virus.

Noticing in the city people are staying outside way longer into the morning drinking on the streets without mask and playing music from cars/speakers. Something that was called hood or ghetto before all this.

Seeing the reports of increased cases in Florida and Arizona is confirmation for me that nothing is going to improve anytime soon.

Summer is done and the chance of this virus spiking in the fall/winter sounds more like a reality. Unbelievable.

I wanted to get a day pass to head out to Yosemite, but even with the limited capacity, I am still skeptical.

This sucks.

To the first article: so essentially the main factors to consider are how many people you’ll be around/density, how long you’ll be around them, what kind of activity it is, and environment (indoor / outdoor). More or less what we’ve known.

I am planning on eating out next week at a small family restaurant the girlfriend and I love. It’s outdoor seating only and the tables are spaced apart pretty well. I really don’t have much desire to do anything else if it’s crowded which it looks like most retail will be for a while. If it’s a situation like I’m used to at target where there’s plenty of space, I can keep it moving, and get in and out in a timely manner or if it’s outdoors and I can keep a safe distance from others then I feel good.

Article #2: So essentially this is good news. The virus has mutated into a more infectious version but the rate of mutation appears to be slower than the seasonal flu, more contagious doesn’t mean more severe reactions and fatalities, and lab conditions might not replicate in real life. Plus, there’s be 15,000 other samples and various variants tested where they’ve found none to be more infectious than the other.

No matter how the virus is progressing, people seem like they've had enough and are willing to rush their lives and the loves of people around them.
Yup. I understand people have had enough, but man. It isn't going to go away if people continue to act reckless and inconsiderate for the people who have a higher chance of contracting it.

For example, my mother-in-law is currently doing radiation treatment for her breast cancer. She went to the casino this past weekend to play bingo. Smh. We made all these accommodations in the house to ensure that she doesn't get COVID and she and my racist-*** father-in-law go to the casino like it's nothing. Then they have the nerve to complain about how there were too many people not following social distancing. MFer you are part of the problem.

NYC needs to close its doors to all visitors.

you should be the governor or mayor of nyc

i don't vote but if you was running or in office now just for this i would make it my business to vote for you in the next election
everyone just is thinking about one thinking money

is anyone especially in nyc using the citizen app tracking feature for covid-19

i came across so far this month 5 casual contacts connected by bluetooth
and 1 meaningful contact it says i was nearby for over 10 minutes and that could be a few places i saw it this morning

is anyone in nyc using this app for this reason

whatever you try and keep the people close to you and yourself safe

Yo i love my potential future in laws but I can't stand them on this issue much longer.
Refusal to wear face masks unless legally required to enter a store, still organizing huge family events because "omg we can't miss one year it's like being in jail", crying over the fact beaches have been closed. "All the 4th of July fireworks are cancelled are you serious omg"

******* entitlement. I'm Asian and she's Cauasian and I'm beginning to think the difference in philosophies due to cultural norms and perspectives are going to drive us further apart. Luckily my girl's on my side cause I've taught her well

i don't mean to get into your business since i'm a stranger but with this virus going around make sure your potential future in laws will not blame you if anyone in the family gets sick
i don't mean to be out of line by any means but the world is changing by the minute and you want to be sure your going to be fully accepted if anything happens to her family or if she has older relatives

again i hope i'm not out of line and if you want me to take the post down please tell me like you said "****ing entitlement" but make it work for you
good luck my friend
