HBO'S "Insecure" [ Created by Issa Rae ► Season III: 2020 ]

Why is the comment Issa settled keep coming up? She didn't settle. She realized she really loved Lawrence and that's who she wanted to be with. It kept coming back to her over time. No idea why people think she settled. If she stayed with Nathan, then that would have been settling. She clearly wasn't happy with him, but he saved her from being the one to break up by saying it first. She was relieved he did it.

Probably from the female aspect of he's a baby daddy and she's a step mother.

You know it's cool for them to say they don't want to date someone with kids.

Derek was right at the table with Tiffany at the wedding. It doesn't matter if she moved from Denver or not. Her being pregnant shows they are still together and thriving.
Did you watch the show with the volume turned up? She stated how unhappy she was, she had no friends, no job and her kid was the only black one in the school.

Did you see that crib she walked into? Remember that raggedy couch in the Dunes. And she was definitely pushing his Lexus too. Issa all the way up right now.

Don't let a break baby block your blessings ladies! That's the moral of the story here!

no way Issa was gonna stay with Nathan too. The man had a milk crate as a nightstand in his room :lol

Didn’t love or hate the finale. I expected time skips. Certainly didn’t expect to have a 90 min episode going through each side characters ending. It was up to the audience to catch the Easter eggs.

They did a great job with making me come around on Molly. Hated her
I appreciated the Tiffany story with the Denver move. Did the same exact thing with the same concerns about diversity in the school system.

My major critique is Nathan’s bipolar disorder. They only used it as an excuse for his disappearance a couple seasons ago. The shots of him taking his medicine made me think he’d develop a drug problem or have an episode that would impact the relationship with Issa.

Gotta love Insecure.

IRL, a woman like Issa would be saying she’s not gonna settle and that she’s “successful” so she doesn’t want to date men with kids.

IRL, Lawrence, an educated six figure guy in LA who obviously has options would not be choosing Issa, history or not.

IRL, Molly’s guy woulda been married already. Goddamn every black lawyer I know at a big firm is already off the market.

But this show just put the battery in chicks’ backs and made them think they can have it all and have their pick of quality dudes even at damn near 40 years old. Where is Kevin Samuels?

Kidding. Thought the ending was solid but rushed.

The whole season absolutely terrible pacing and storytelling from a veteran storyteller  Some good scenes interspersed but few & far in between.

Must be spread too thin between all the other projects

Yeah think spread too thin.

Im sure the holes and all over of this season was because they had different people writing/directing different episodes.

Coming out with a rap project on HBO Max

She's not Lena Waithe status, so I'll at least check it out

This season sucked, lol. I mean, it had highs and lows. I felt a lot of it zoomed through, sort of like the last episode. You blink and the next scene is like 1 year later, 2 years later, 3 years later. Yo! They could of gave us 3 - 4 more EP's to explain ****. With that said, I'm kind of surprised Issa and Law got back, but it is to be expected.

The one/two positive things was Molly spitting truth about life happening. Saw same similarities in my hs and college friends. But Molly definitely is the character that they got completely right. We saw all of her growth.

Like I said the whole episode it was as if Issa didn’t want to grow up. Like she felt like she was losing her friends as they were entering different phases of life.

The Issa and Molly scene was too real felt like they were saying goodbye for real.

When Molly mom passed that hit me, I feel like they didn’t have to do that. But that’s how it goes sometimes smh.

because they were...

Molly turned 32 tho…which I think was a little too young. I thought they was like at least 34 lowkey…

Very forced. Even the corny “drive thru old scenery schtick” instead of a montage.

I was hoping for a fly freestlye from issa to pay homage to series premier. But nope. Just a lot of cheese and sloppyness.

That scene when molly found out her mom passed was weird and terribly edited. It cut right to another scene with no effort in transition.

Great series nonetheless.
