HBO: The Last of Us (Season 2 is a go)...Sundays @ 9PM EST...Pedro Pascal&Bella Ramsey=Joel&Ellie...NO SPOILERS IF YOU'VE PLAYED THE GAMES

Idk if this has been said already in this thread but for those who have not played the game and are just watching this show are going to in for a rude awakening come next season. For those who havent played the game or aren't gamers, I suggest you take to YouTube and watch. The storyline is absolutely fire. 12 out of 10

On another note, this show was rushed. Not enough clickers, infected and raider fight scenes. We need more of it next season

Joel has spent 20 years honing his craft and survived getting cross country with ellie. While these fireflies, a group of 5, almost didn't survive the same trip with Marlene. Sure it was definitely a Joel Wick moment, then you add the lack of joel being a killer most of season makes it seem far-fetched when it really shouldn't.

Finale was just about perfect for me, aside from some cringeworthy lines ("it wasn't time that did it" )

Season overall was good, could have been great if they didn't focus so much on "emotional violence." that finale showed they could do violence and not have it come off as forced.

oh and more infected would have been great to set the tone on how dire things really were.

at the end of the day as fans of the franchise we got lucky, we could have ended up with something like the uncharted movie.

bella is still whack. with so many close ups this last episode it made me realize her face really doesn't show emotion well. literally her mouth and eyebrows move but nothing else. she also talks like a squirrel with her mouth full. sucks that shes going to be such a big part of future seasons

I feel like “rude awakening” is the wrong term there

My bad, Disappointment
I feel the opposite  Im hoping against all hope my mother can avoid any spoilers until S2 starts. The storyline is absolutely great but if the show handles it the same way, it's going to be massive
oh okay, Keep her away bro lol. Let her watch the show first THEN let her watch the cutscenes. She has to know the little details they leave out of the show

I mean, I haven’t played the game and loved this first season. Unless the storyline for the 2nd game sucks, which you said it doesn’t, I’m definitely not going to be disappointed

I think this is the only television show i have seen where i knew pretty much everything significant that was going to happen....the end especially.

It probably would have had more of an impact if i saw this all for the first time with it being live action.

After the first 5 episodes i was thinking this was going to be one of my all time favorite shows. 9 point something out of 10.

I still enjoyed it but as a whole it never reached that. Still a solid first season.
I never played the second game but i know the story.

Looking forward to it.

The entire show felt rushed after the first few episodes, even when they skipped action portions and went straight to the dialogue portions. I’m pretty sure it’s because they crammed everything into 9 episodes rather than 12 or more. Did HBO not think this show would do well when they set this episode limit?

I hope everyone skips all the vids and spoilers for S2. Go into it blind and enjoy the ride

I enjoyed Part 2 and thought it had an intriguing and thought-provoking story.
It was controversial and divisive... which doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing.

IMO, the story will change in Season 2. I bet the order of events will be re-shuffled. With the success of season one, I think they get an even bigger budget to add more clickers. Solid season and happy got to see a series that stayed close to the source material.
I don't think they can afford to kill off Joel right away in Season 2 (like GOT killing of favorite characters). IMO, they keep him around and make his death an event worthy of ending the season.

Its kinda wild how wide spread the demo for this show has reached. I know quite a few female fam/friends who don’t even play video game yet are watching and enjoying the show every week. Think the father/daughter aspect of the show hits with a lot of people. Plus Pedro is damn sex symbol now :lol :pimp:

/10

I wasn't big on Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie when they were initially announced, mainly because they didn't exactly look like the characters in the game, but they both gave great performances and made these characters their own.

The Last of Us was a pretty damn good video game-to-live action adaptation. Easily the best adaption at the moment.

That being said, it could have used an extra episode or two in the latter half of the season because it felt kinda rushed, but it's not a major complaint.

When you turn a novel/comic book/video game into a film or TV series, things are going to be left out.

Maybe there could have been more Clicker action or more on-screen violence, but it is what it is.

Bring on Part II!

Ten episodes were filmed, but what ended up being Episode 2 was condensed into Episode 1.

Only the last two episodes felt rushed to me. I've heard some wish they didn't cover the Left Behind DLC and used that for something else, but that was one of my favorite episodes.

HBO should give them what they need for the next season though. Hopefully.

Need clarification on Ellie

When Marlene takes Ellie as a baby, what does she do with her?

I was a lil confused on that part. We see Ellie in the Fedra camp training to be an officer in one episode

We also see Ellie chained up when she’s first introduced and held by the Fireflies when they find out she’s immune

Need to fill in the blanks there for me

I think Marlene puts Ellie in an orphanage and watched her from a distance. She then makes her self known after the mall incident and they get reconnected from there. Ellie is chained up because Marlene knows she's immune and has always been immune and can't let her get away.
