GSWARRIORS THREAD VOL. ANDDD AGAINNNN NBA CHAMPIONS

Was kinda hoping dunleavy would work out a buyout with the Hawks so the Warriors had a chance to sign him and bring him back but looks like that's not happening
For what purpose would Dunleavy serve?

He's not exactly well liked here.

I absolutely disliked, and still do, dunleavy. He represents everything that was terrible about the st. jean era. Im still ******* pissed we wasted picks on him and troy Murphy

didnt mind murph. the guy was a solid rebounder and could get you some points
gil/jrich/murph was one hell of a draft.
still disappointed that those teams weren't too competitive. seem like the talent was there and somehow the team still ended up with 20+ wins :{

seem like larry hughes shot got worse every yr. he actually fixed it that one yr with the wiz playing with MJ

not mad at dunleavy. looking back, that draft was full of busts. one of the last guy remaining from that yr that's still playing.
just checked, him ,nene still playing
and matt barnes, scola :lol

I thought we got value from Troy Murphy...Minus his issues with his plantar fascia.

Hughes' shot did get worse every year...His skills diminished. I was only excited about him because he played along side AI in Philly

The talent may have been there to be competitive, but look at the coaches that came through during their first couple of years: Dave Cowens, Brian Winters, Eric Musselman, Mike Montgomery.

Granted Musselman and Montgomery brought the team up to 30+ wins..But I don't think the roster was capable enough to focus up and be a successful team.

Man, those were some tough years...but always tuned in to see J-Rich play and when Arenas started playing and made a name for himself...Man, I was so happy lol.

And with the news of Dunleavy...I wouldn't mind it. I really don't understand the hate for him at times. Yeah, he was drafted at #3 and wasn't franchise player that turned the organization around...But you can't blame him for that. The front office was terrible and Cohen didn't care about winning.

Dunleavy made a pretty good career for himself and was a decent role player...I wouldn't mind him in a back-up role. Waive McAdoo he's a waste.

McAdoo would get you some screens and a couple of boards.

Waive Verejao. That fool hasn't suited up and is too busy flopping instead of getting rebounds....
That's fair. I forgot about Verejao lol.

definitely need to cut ties with Anderson. Although if I were them, I would at least try and package andy and mcadoo and some money considerations for a body. Go after wilson chandler and try and scoop bogut back. Last night showed how weak the inside defense is. Try and pray on teams with expiring contracts.

I liked everything Warriors pre-Kerr, but that's just me.

Same way I liked everything pre-Dennis Allen in Oakland even with losing seasons. That's just me.

Unless Dallas decides to cut Bogut, I don't think the league rules allow W's trade for a player they previously traded away, correct? Plus, it seems he's been on and off being injured. He isn't happy coming off the bench in Dallas, I wouldn't be confident in him coming back and coming off the bench either.

I agree with you about packaging Andy & McAdoo for someone to compliment the bench...But, i'll be tuned in to see how Myers tweaks the roster for the playoff run.

As a Warriors fan, you have to embrace the history of your franchise. We lived with the crap teams growing up and is now a reminder how fast the organization turned around. Who knew? I definitely didn't.

i can't wait to see the roster tweaks. I remember him saying they wanted to give it about 40 or so games to see how exactly what they needed and going after those specific pieces.

What do you guys think?

pg curry/livingston/clarke
sg klay/?...I've found a lot of times they just rotate curry or ian into that pg roll and letting shaun run point.
sf kd/dray/klay
pf dray/kd/west
c zaza/javale/dray/looney

so another dedicated 2 guard would be beneficial. Maybe another pf.

^Yeah, I wouldn't mind that option.

Unless Looney and Jones step it up the final half of the season...

i want bogut back too. he's definitely unhappy in Dallas. maybe if he makes enough noise they'll waive him and we'll scoop him up for the vet min.

but the NBA won't let that happen....

Troy Murphy was David Lee before David Lee was David Lee.

Don't you dare speak of Troy Murphy that way.  Terrible insult.

:lol i knew this would get a rise out of you

I understand your strong dislike of David Lee because of his ineptitude on defense and poor shot selection at times, but I'll give him props for handling all the crap that happened to him towards the end of his tenure with the warriors like a consummate pro.

Damn I wish I would have gotten tickets to this game, but I couldn't let myself pay finals prices for a regular season game.
