GSWARRIORS THREAD VOL. ANDDD AGAINNNN NBA CHAMPIONS

If Warriors are able to get a max-level free agent (like Horford, or KD...one can dream), Harrison (and Festus) will be out of the picture for sure. KD's almost certainly sticking with OKC, but everything is going to be frozen until he makes up his mind.

The Warriors need a stable, consistent source of offense outside of Curry/Klay's shooting...and better big men so they can compete better on the glass with guys like Steven Adams and Tristan Thompson. Bogut's great, but you need to have more bodies available down low.

GSW needs wings and rebounders. Barnes is too much for too little and Iggy is gettin up there in age. That back won't ever be right again and 82+ games will will show that over time. Again, like last year, the Dubs need a scrappy rebounder or a big man that can get rebounds in general.

Realistically, Joakim Noah would be absolutely perfect on this team. Him and Bogut splitting minutes would be perfect considering their age. Noah would bring the same passing ability (he actually might be a slightly better passer than Bogut), but offers much more scoring ability. He's a tremendous defender. Bogut is a slightly better rim protector since he's bigger, but Noah is much more comfortable stepping out of the paint and is more than capable of switching onto a smaller player in the pick and roll. All the defensive weaknesses that the warriors were exposed to this year would be negated with the addition of Noah. Him and Draymond patrolling the paint would be absolutely devastating.

Batum would also be a great fit, but I don't think Dubs can afford him.

Noah would be great and he hates Cleveland too :lol.

I'm just concerned about his health.

Noah's health is a concern, but I think the warriors staff will do a good job with his minutes. Bogut has been relatively healthy since Kerr's been the coach. He just has freak accident injuries. Thibs definitely overworked his players and I think that's why Noah started breaking down a bit.

I love everyone's passion and energy devoted to trying to come up with ways to improve our team and get back to being the Champs.

But the simple fact is, if Steph Curry played like Steph Curry and not Seth Curry, we would be back to back Champs right now with no real need to talk about improving this roster.

Most definitely, Bulls got polar opposites w/ firing Thibs and hiring Hoidberg :lol Thibs ran dudes into the ground but it's almost like he had to since the front office wouldn't make moves to get the personal the Bulls needed.

Managing Noah's health and minutes would be key if he were to sign w/ the Warriors but he boxes out which the Dubs need.

Those talks been going since before the playoffs tho.

This talk also helps us move on

you're definitely right, had Steph played like regular season Steph, we wouldn't be so quick to consider FA splashes and we'd be planning a parade. However, we gotta think about the immediate future. The reality is our role players who are HUGE pillars on defense are getting older: Iggy and Bogut. Bogut's health is always in the fringes and Iggy's back could be a concern come next playoffs if he's tasked with guarding KD and Lebron in back-to-back series. Sign KD and Joakim and let Barnes and Festus walk.

KD is reportedly interested in playing with the warriors. Adding him would be a 2-for; don't need Iggy to guard him for 7 games and immediately becomes the 1st or 2nd option on offense. We gonna need draymond and klay to employ some amazing diplomacy at this year's Olympics similar to how Wade, Bosh, and LBJ formed. I don't care if we "buy" our championships. When a team wins championships, you're hated regardless of if your talent is homegrown or assembled through FA. As a lifelong A's fan and witnessing other teams purchase players we developed, I couldn't care less if the dubs resorted to this tactic.

Warriors would have been very active in free agency had they won the title (I don't think the conversation would be much different)...but not winning it I think will propel the front office to be more aggressive in improving the team, and it becomes that much more important. Quite frankly, OKC exposed flaws in the Warriors, and the Cavs beating them was icing on the cake. Both teams have provided a blueprint, Warriors need to tweak and adjust, and I think they'll do just that.

I agree, this talk also helps us move on from Sunday. I haven't watched any parts of Game 7 since Sunday, I don't want to be reminded of it. It still stings, but looking to next season def. helps since you know Warriors will be motivated as hell to prove all the haters/doubters wrong.

They do need more depth at C and PF. That's about it

Pick up Howard and Noah, might be the answer

I don't know if I want Howard, seems like such a locker room cancer.
Winning cures all.  No one called him a locker room cancer when he was dominating the Eastern Conference when he was on the Magic.  He turned a team that didnt have a single other plus defender into a top 3-5 defensive team.

Sign me up.  A winning culture would do wonders for him.  He is basically a better Bogut at this point.

**EDIT**

I say sign me up if we miss out on Durant.  I am all in on Durant at this point.

Dwight Howard is a shell of his former self. He's soft and has no heart. His back is atill bothering him. No clue why warriors would pick him up.

I don't know how many of you watch chicago but Noah's done. Before he was injured, he was invisible and coming off the bench because of his horrendous play. He has no offense and plays timid with the ball down low.

If warriors are going for a big man, he's gotta be able to finish at the rim and some post presence would hurt either.

Not sure about his defense but Ryan Anderson is a sharpshooter who I'd take instead of Barnes.

It's going to be very interesting to say the least. I think our biggest weaknesses were magnified by the Cavs and OKC - the turnovers, the lack of interior presence, and a consistent scorer off the bench. It didn't hurt them all season, but come playoff time, that bit them. These have to be addressed in the postseason.

I think they'll def. chase KD, but it's very hard to see him leaving OKC....in terms of replacing HB, I don't know if there's a big upgrade out there on the market. Depending on how much he is looking for, maybe Warriors will still keep him. Same with Ezeli as well - but I do think Dwight Howard actually would fit in perfectly with the team as constructed. It also seems to be the right kind of culture (and right kind of players around) that allows him to be successful. He's almost like a more athletic, younger, and more healthy version of Bogut to me. In the right role (which he would have here) I think it would work very well.

Also, probably need a more consistent scorer coming off the bench, unless Warriors think Ian Clark can fill that role next year.
Draymond green is the damn heart beat of this team, I have ZERO doubt he laid it all out there tonight, some of these other guys I'm not so sure. I'm proud to have Dray on this team. Most important player on this Warriors team

While i think he clowned too much overall with his arm flexing, i must say he played overall a good finals series while klay and curry underperformed, not to mention Livingstons shooting.
But seriously, i don't think that this team needs an offense upgrade but rather play smarter when the ball isn't going in that well by slowing down the tempo, playing more passes to exploit the defense to get a closer shot plus they need to attack the boards more.
The turnovers mostly resulted by hassled attempts to pass the ball and getting intercepted.
Offensively this team is already the best team. They rather need some fine tuning and adjustmemts.

Adding someone like Durant isn't really a solution as curry, klay and draymond would need to step back from scoring.
We already witnessed that the cavs can only have 2 main scorer options and klove had to step back.
And dwight howard? He's so washed and soft.

Dwight Howard would take a pay cut to come to the dubs and win. I'd take him if we miss out on Horford for C

No to Howard.  Warriors look for high character players.  Yes, to Durant!!! What if Curry or Klay gets injured during the playoffs ... where does your scoring come from.  Draymond can score but that's not his game.  Having Durant will allow the warriors 2 have 2 main scorers on the floor at all times.  Unlike resting Steph and then Klay is the only scorer or vice versa.  Rest Steph, Klay and Durant on the floor.  Rest Klay, Steph and Durant on the floor.  Rest Durant, Steph and Klay on the floor.  Since the Warriors lost the championship, Durant has nothing to lose... he can now be the other piece to help us win and be contenders for the next 5 years!!!

They keep playing the Cleveland Nike commercial, it makes me feel so salty and sad...

anybody know how Steven Adams' contract is looking? LOL

or Mozgov...

Moz is an UFA this off season, if GSW went after him, 2K would be right again :lol

I have made it clear for over a year that my opinion is that we need to do whatever it takes for Durant.  I'm all in.  But I am all for Dwight if we miss out on KD.  He is a better version of Bogut.  If he could just board up and play some D, he would be a welcomed addition.  People saying he is a shell of his former self....well yeah he is.  He used to be an MVP candidate.  Now he is just a better Bogut.  I'll happily take that.

Wonder what Sean is gonna do, and Leandro.

IF we can get Howard or Noah I have no issue. My issue with Horford is that he really isnt a rim protector, yea he can defend but he really isnt a force on the block.

I am also interested to see in the draft

I think the Warriors should have an eye for Howard. Yeah, he has character issue. But if Myers and Kerr can get him to realize the culture and how the Warriors are run, I think he can be convinced. Plus, to have him and Bogut, I wouldn't mind that at all.

For some reason, I'm not really sold on Horford.

I think Dirk would be nice at the right price...But the team would need more than Dirk to compete for another championship.

Still hope KD finds the Warriors as his next future home.
