GOAT Talk

Yeah, real cool of you to post footage of that blatant offensive foul pushoff on Bryon Russell and all, but Jordan's actual final shot:

556.png

Topping off a 37-45 record lottery season in a historically weak conference with a 50-32 record #1 seed. This was when Jordan was over a year younger than 41 year-old LeBron beating the Rockets as a heavy underdog in a playoff series without Luka or Reaves BTW.

But let me guess: His Wizards seasons don't really count.
Just like his pre-Pippen 3 losing record seasons don't really count (in terms of team success, only his individual numbers in those seasons count, right?)
Just like his loss in the 1995 playoffs as the bookies favorite doesn't really count
Just like Bill Russell's nearly double Jordan's 11 rings don't really count when someone destroys your ring-based argument

What AI program did you use?

Lebron fans logic
“Russell has more rings that MJ that means he is better”
“Lebron played longer that means he is better”
“Waffle House sells more steaks than anyone it’s better than Kobe A5”

No, the Russell mention is to expose your flawed logic: If Jordan is better than LeBron because he has 6 rings compared to LeBron's 4, then how badly do Russell's 11 rings annihalate Jordan's tiny 6 in Russell's case for GOAT?

LeBron playing longer does not in and of itself mean he is better, or I would be saying that Udonis Haslem is greater than Jordan as well. But the fact that LeBron played longer at such a high level carries a lot of weight - 21 All-NBA selections compared to Jordan's 11, a full decade worth. Jordan's and LeBron's primes are very much comparable. But their longevities aren't even remotely comparable at this point.

How many times did MJ make the playoffs with the Wizards?

How many times did LeBron at equal age?

Again not saying LeBron is the goat.

MJ had higher peaks for sure.

This thread is also for just having fun. Obviously Lebron has an argument for being a goat.

And many or most of us won’t change opinions

Another thing to consider, how many all-nba and all-stars did MJ make when he came back with the Wizards, how many did LeBron make at equal age and beyond.

We can also say MJ played all 82 games at 40 and Bron can’t come close :)

I think it’s made up for in statistical production, we can compare season by season if you want

Not like his team had less wins either

Not a LeBron fanboy either, I probably lean towards Jordan but I’m trying to be objective as possible.

Jordan came out of retirement 2x was 40 after sitting down for an extended period played all games for a franchise that’s never been known to win is not the same as play for Lakers who just literally traded for Luka

Throw out all the stats you want if LeBron goes away and comes back and isn’t the face of the league when he returns those all nba selections ain’t happening

Jordan retiring twice was his own choice, can’t really reward him for it.

can definitely reward a guy for sitting on the couch out do the sport then choosing to Come back and put up numbers on a squad of nobody’s does mean somthing

Even when your past the typical playing age especially for that era

LeBron is a great player just not #1

Bron didn’t miss the playoffs at 40 and made an All-NBA team 🤷🏾‍♂️

Speaking of this, people need to know that recently we have learned about extended All-NBA votes from seasons before...
And what did Wizards Jordan get in terms of All-NBA votes?

In 2001-02, at the age of 39, he got the votes that would've been the equivalent of the All-NBA 5th team: https://www.basketball-reference.com/awards/awards_2002.html#all_leading_all_nba
In 2002-03, at the age of 40, he got the votes that would've been the equivalent of the All-NBA 6th team: https://www.basketball-reference.com/awards/awards_2003.html#all_leading_all_nba

It speaks volumes how bad he must've been with the Wizards to receive such low votes considering he was probably the most media-slurped athlete of all time.

Meanwhile, LeBron at the age of 39: All-NBA 3rd team
And LeBron at the age of 40: All-NBA 2nd team

Jordan came out of retirement 2x was 40 after sitting down for an extended period played all games

Yes, we all know that a 39-40 year-old Jordan had a massive advantage over other NBA players who played at 40 because his significantly fresher body endured zero NBA mileage or injuries at age 36, 37 and 38. Thank you for pointing that out.

Lebron 23 seasons… 10 50 win seasons and 3 60 win seasons…

MJ 15 seasons, 8 50 win season and 5 60 win seasons.

The man literally toyed with the NBA for a whole decade. Bron can’t ever say :lol :lol :lol

Like Jordan dominated in terms of statistics and winning. That’s the difference

Give 40 year old MJ an AD caliber running mate and lets see the difference

You can’t reason with bron stans. Losing is acceptable to them and they will move every goal post for a guy that rarely played defense in 23 years

They love to bring his best ranks for good stats but never for bad stats like misses and turnovers etc

Jordan played 80-82 games pretty much every season but one with the wizards and the onr where he broke his foot. Meanwhile lebron has a single 82 game season in 23 years and the lakers are getting part time play.

A list MJ ain’t on lol. You can’t call a goat someone who loses this much on the biggest stage. No one calls Jerry or Elgin goats.

1st 15 yrs: played 94% of the games
Last 8 yrs: played 75% of the games
Never missed a playoff game

 barely played defense but finished top 2 in DPOY 3 times and got robbed by Marc Gasol who didn’t even make 1st team all defense

If you gone say his positive stats are longevity stats so are his negative ones can’t have it both ways

Can’t help he played 23 years no breaks and didn’t quit 3 times

Can’t reason with casual Jordan fans that box score watch and don’t watch the games

Jordan > LeBron in my book but LeBron went to 8 straight Finals.

He also didn't have to be put on ice for having a gambling addiction.

He didn't "Load Manage" seasons at a time either.

Don't do this.
