FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

I don't mind "pulled pork" on a taco but any other way I don't care for it.

I don't like my pork pulled.

Yeah, those tacos were done with a marinated pork chop. I go back and forth on shoulders, I'm more of a beef guy honestly.

I rock with crock pot pulled pork too. As well as wings on a grill with a few wood chips thrown on top of the coals ‘smoked’

I like pork.
Just not like that
I enjoy the textures of different cuts and pulling the pork kind of makes that all uniform.
Makes it kinda boring.

I never order it that way.

Could also be that I'm Filipino and we don't do that when we cook a whole hog.

Speaking of that hog

Hope you new crock pot users are SEARING meats BEFORE putting them in the Crock pot

Pulled pork is damn good, especially the crispy and fatty parts. I'll plate it up like pernil with rice and beans.

How was the soondubu jigae? Nice & spicey? I like the hue of the broth & the fat from the beef in there... Bonchan looks good to.

As I've gotten older, I've fond that if I have something salty like Korean food, I gotta have at least a lil something sweet afterwards...

I ordered it "very spicy" and I thought it was just the right amount of spice. I always end up trying to eat too fast and burn the roof of my mouth :{ :lol

At the more legit Korean places, you don't have to ask for extra or very spicey & they bring you a small towel to wipe the sweat from your face & head as you dine on the various stews/jigaes... Having said that, I haven't see a Korean spot like that in a while...

I bought a crock pot months ago and have yet to use it :smh: my girl is hesitant to have it on all day while we are at work, but I told her that's the point  .
3-5 hrs should be fine for most recipes, as someone else mentioned searing first helps.
