Don't feel too bad. I'm on Long Island and have a longtime friend that moved to Texas. Around this time every year he comes to visit and fulfill a lot of his food cravings that can't be satiated in Texas (pizza, bagels, Chinese, etc.) and Cider doughnuts are on his list every time, whereas I didn't even realize it was a thing.I never had those before
Going out to the east end of LI and pumpkin/apple picking and visiting a vineyard along the way is a huge thing though.

If you live in the dc/md area go to miller farms in clinton. The apple cider donuts are heaven sent. Also they make their own seasonl ice cream, last year they had like pumpkin cheesecake or something....SO BOMB
