FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

2 things.

1.) Yellow Mustard is such a strong and overwhelming condiment that even the smallest amount can sour some of the best burgers.

2.) I almost never see anyone who likes yellow mustard use it sparingly. It’s always doused in it, followed by a comment about how much they love mustard and how they don’t know why I don’t love mustard. Same as pickles.

It is a strong flavor. I don't think it should be a standard burger topping unless clearly stated

Idk anyone who loves mustard like that. Especially plain yellow. What you're describing seems more common with ketchup

If anything it's more common to freak out about mustard whether it's in a bbq sauce or on a burger

Is it the same rule for hot dogs?
Sometimes I just use mustard for that but not burgers

stop being so smug.

the replies read that the condiment is so strong it shouldn't be used by itself.
meat bun mustard...not a huge difference there
Dawg it’s a different food.

When’s the last time you put lettuce on a hot dog?

Hot dogs are like the wild west

With limited/basic toppings I'd use mustard only

Ketchup on a bacon wrapped dog is good though

Do you put mustard on both hot dogs and burgers? Yes
Are they different foods? Yes.

Do you put lettuce on both hot dogs and burgers?
No.

Are you being serious?
I hope not.

Are you ok today?

Always HAVE to have these on a burger for me:

Onion
Cheese
Condiment (whether it be Mayo or another type of sauce. At home I use Wolfgangs steak sauce on my burgers when I make em)

Tomato and Pickle I prefer on the side bc I like to sprinkle some salt on them and eat them on the side and never on the burger.

Oh and finally the burger must be cooked medium rare.

Lol I’m not the one melting down over a conversation about hamburgers and hot dogs.

I just have an abnormal hatred for mustard and pickles.

Both have been accidentally left on a burger or hotdog of mine when I ordered somewhere in the past, and completely ruined my food. Once that taste is there, it overpowers everything. Removing it or scraping it off helps but doesn’t completely fix things.

They are my arch nemesis.

Honestly, give me anything but avocados or pineapple on a burger.

Mustard, BBQ Sauce, shoe string fries, red onions, whatever you can find

Burgers are versatile.

I get it. Tomatoes and I have a similar beef in places they don't belong

I used to be the same way with fast food burgers. I'd order plain (w/ cheese) only to get everything

At that point there's no going back
