FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Went to one of NYC's best 🍕 joints called New Park Pizza. Been few years since I last went so it was long overdue. This joint has the softest dough I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. I mean it's super soft dough & the cheese is very good too + the little bit of flour thrown on the crust mixed with the char from the undercarriage is 🍕 perfection 🤤.

Also, we went to Little Guyana(Liberty Ave) for some of my sis-in-laws fave Guyanese & Islander spots :pimp: . She got regular channa(chickpeas), pholourie(Pholourie is a snack food of Indo-Caribbean origin that is commonly eaten in Trinidad and Tobago as well as in Guyana, Suriname and other parts of the Caribbean. It consists of fried, spiced spilt pea and flour dough balls that are served with a chutney), Aloo curry(potato curry) & pine tart.

I got yellow daal(lentil) with white rice topped off with aloo curry & some roti. Man, the aloo were so 🔥. I've never had this style roti before. Us Pakistanis make it circular but this roti was super aromatic. The pine tart was a good attempt but not sweet enough. Got some Jamaican cream soda & peanut punch. Cream Soda reminded me of my childhood & the peanut punch I'm saving for another day. We REALLY wanted doubles but both places we went to were out

Went to New Park a couple years ago when I made the trip up for the US Open. Good slices for sure.

Some pics from Pizza City Fest. Didn’t get shots of everything. Favorites were Spacca, Alla Vita, and Jimmys. Giordanos was garbahj.

Do you pay per vendor or was it one entry fee? I use to look forward to going to these events but felt like the vendors or under a lot of pressure to get a ton of food out in a limited amount of time and they are not working under normal conditions so I wonder if the final product taste different at these events vs at their home location.

One entry fee. I went on the second day and it was like 1/3 of the people compared to what was there on day 1 according to folks that were there for both. Never had to wait more than 5 min or so for a slice from any of the vendors.

The vendors were all using the same pizza ovens that sponsored the event, so the product is definitely going to taste a bit different there then it would at their brick and mortar.

I wished we had one of those events in the bay area.

Overnight me a few of those slices, I'll send you out some In N Out as a token of gratitude.8)

Spacca Napoli def my favorite Neapolitan joint. Jimmy's got great NY slices too. Never been to Alla Vita tho. Thanks for the heads up. Gotta check it out.

Stupid panda express messed up my whole insides. :smh:
Retired Panda from my life. Never again. Got pretty sick last time I had it.

Wouldn’t say anything actually tasted bad other than Giordanos. That pesto/burrata slice didn’t look visually appealing but was really good.

Went to Texas Roadhouse last night with some coworkers. Ordered some ribs.

Ngl I didn’t really like em. It was weird. They fell off the bone but they weren’t juicy, sorta dry / crumbly. :/

Mustard and ketchup together does not belong on a burger? Although I have not tried it only on a hot dog

There is a Wayback Burger where I live and I never been there may have to try it out.

Got me missing being in Brooklyn where there's a Caribbean spot on almost every block to satisfy whatever craving I have. Food looks good bro :pimp:

Any good late night spots in Jacksonville open until like 1am or am I eating at Waffle House?

Heading to Fleming island but I already know nothing is there more than likely.
