Never owned one.

All we used growing up was a pot. Wash the rice, cook the rice, drain the water, put a lil oil in the pot, put the rice back and steam it with a towel around the lid. Gets the grains nice and fluffy.

Basmati>>>>
I always admired how most people cooked rice because it was so much more difficult than cooking rice with a rice cooker.

Only 2 rice brands i F with by the way.....

IMO, owning a rice cooker is mostly #Cultural.

For non Asians/Africans/Hispanics, owning one probably just makes the consumption of it greater.

Making rice without a rice cooker is something many people have to be in the mood for, unless yall are using Minute Rice.

I have to use the rice in a bag because I don’t know how to cook rice.

As much as I cook, I can’t get the rice part down right. Even with the boil the bag rice.

Using a rice cooker is sac religious in my family and anyone who uses one would be judged. My grandmother would :smh: at relatives who used one.

(Puts on Fib Hat to remain "true" to my character on NT)

I worked in a kitchen about 10 years ago and I was introduced a different method to cook rice.

Wash Rice
"Sautee" rice (Here is when you season it)
Add Liquid. (2/1 Ratio; 2.5/1 Ratio for Brown Rice)
High Heat until it reaches a boil
Simmer, Cover and DO NOT STIR

Always comes out to the desired taste/texture.

Grine Grine Shame on you man. :smh:
