So what exactly would she be doing to "help" her cook the onions?

That is a 2-person task in your household?
MY point was
Everything ain’t to be recorded
And I hate how everytime someone does something
They have to record it
When me and my kids are doing family stuff similar to that
I’m there enjoying in the moment
Not pulling out my phone to record something

Well she makes money in the culinary arts, so I don't view that as applicable here.

This is coming from the most anti record-everything person around.

My son’s B-day today. He doesn’t like regular birthday cake, so requested a Krispy Kreme Donut “Cake” ...

I’m thinking the 2nd one was not totally necessary. No idea what I’m going to do with all of these donuts.

Also, why isn't this logic applied to people snapping pictures of food while they are out? (Something you do).

Or is this an instance in which the rule only applies when you want it to apply?

The little girl clearly isn't doing it right. Hence the comment about needing help.

You probably don't deal with children a lot but the whole let them cook the meal is merely for show and just so they feel included. Rarely if ever can you give a child a task and not end up doing it over/properly.
