So basically they made this similar to the royal foam instead of carolina pro with the white upper and white soles

Cough Drops for me. I had seen foams and liked them but never followed the release dates. Cough Drops were sitting on the shelf when I picked up my Cool Greys so I got em. Always been a sucker for black/red. I was sick when I saw them in outlets... NO RAGRETS.

My first pair was the OG royal pennys from the summer of 97. I remember seeing a Nike catalog pic earlier in the year and then Bibby wore them in the NCAA champ game. It was a done deal. I had to have them. Skipped out on the blk/wht XII release for them. I still have them at my parents house

Coincidence, same story to the t. Even skipping on the xii's part. I remember calling that number on the ad for the recording. Mightve been maybe 2 or 3 with foams in my high school, and I went to a large school, most didn't even know they were Nikes. Space shoes. Wore em straight through snow storms and playing ball on black top and gravel like courts. Survived through it all for many years.
