I've been an infoholic since the days I'd go to the library and check out books on the NFL. It was books where they were summarizing seasons. Talking about plays and there were diagrams but almost no pictures. Like I was reading print like "In season x, the Pittsburgh Steelers ran up a regular season record of 9-7", almost like we didn't have a tv

I mean we did but this was before the internet. Before cell phones. Yes, there are ways to communicate that don't involve Twitter. But sadly nothing I can find allows me to manipulate, process, glean and share information as fast and in such a broad way from tons of different people.

We need to have an app election.

Websites. See how you were willing to go through a process to get the information you wanted and now, all of a sudden, its not even about the actual information anymore, its about the speed and ease of access. If a person REALLY wants the information, they'll go get. Hell, social media aint even giving out the CORRECT information, you STILL have to actively SEEK the pertinant info. SM hasn't really progessed the spread of knowledge like we want to believe it does, that's just the dope talking.

Not a bad point. The way I have everything configured though, it enables me to do a bunch of different things at once. I'm not tied to anything, I just need my info. And absolutely everything has to be fact checked in my view. And sourced, though these days I feel like almost nobody but me cares about where you got the info from.

Like I can do things the 30-years-ago way, but I can accomplish so much more with my current setups. Dynamic refreshing is huge. Being able to choose your sources is huge. I'm slangin every type of information imaginable. I'm like a dude out here with a digital bomber jacket the size of a house

For real though, I am 1000% an information junkie. I'll likely get a Ph.D. in it eventually. I have excel spreadsheets to this day from decades ago with reputable sources of various types of information. No joke I think I have upwards of 15 library cards. Physical cards. And digital access to others.

Right now I'm weighing what to do about Twitter. I'd rather not help Elmo in any way but until we get some kind of app election I feel like I take so much from there and make strategic choices about clicks to minimize helping him, that any loss from me dumping the site would be super minimal, compared to how much it would 'harm' people I get information to. I will always have backups. I will always reroute around any roadblocks. And I have lots of systems in the background digitally catching dust that will get my focus if my main info sources dry up or become unusable. I just wish Gates or Buffet or some of the other Billionaires with the ability saw the utility in getting something up and running for infojunkies that isn't owned by a MF maniac racist sexist homophobic dbag.
