So I'd long thought Elon was going to make Twitter go down sometime around the time of the election. There's too much information that gets spread on there that helps people be informed. Helps spread the word about issues. Helps people organized.

So I figured he'd just take the site offline.

But now I think he's trying to get a bunch of accounts and advertisers and personalities to leave. You have to imagine people are going to quit the site with horrific tweets like this from the CEO.

But there's no clear place to go to...bluesky? threads? ig? fb? Spill?

So it ultimately will have the same effect of cutting off communication.

^removed, but this was elon blocking on twitter, a link to an article about how he blocks access to articles

Nope. Folks are infoholics. They damn the bottle while pouring up another drink. Like, why does there HAVE to be somewhere to go? Cilivilation as we know it operated for thousands of years without social media(Im not going to say "just fine"). We've all agreed its more harm then help, but still act like we need it. If that aint addiction.....

I've been an infoholic since the days I'd go to the library and check out books on the NFL. It was books where they were summarizing seasons. Talking about plays and there were diagrams but almost no pictures. Like I was reading print like "In season x, the Pittsburgh Steelers ran up a regular season record of 9-7", almost like we didn't have a tv

I mean we did but this was before the internet. Before cell phones. Yes, there are ways to communicate that don't involve Twitter. But sadly nothing I can find allows me to manipulate, process, glean and share information as fast and in such a broad way from tons of different people.

We need to have an app election.
