Eating Peoples Food At Work

I remember o
After the pics and videos of how people’s homes look and regarding what was said in the potluck thread, y’all still taking chances on food of other people at work? Doesn’t matter if it’s from a fast food place and it’s only been at work. The moment I see Karen getting a leg out the Popeyes 10 pc box with her nasty fingers, I’m not touching none of it. Y’all just love playing Russian roulette when it comes to food

Cuz you know Karen will put that leg back in the box and grab something else.

I remember we had a potluck one time and one of my co-workers decided to bake some brownies.

They looked real good but I was wondering why no one grabbed any of them.

I had a Supervisor pull me aside and put me on the game; according to sources in the department this co-worker let her cat walk all on the counters while she cook her food. She even let the cat lick the spoon when she done baking.

That was the last time I considered anything she cooked.

OP, you better chill on eating other people's food.

You do know people put medicine in they food right?

She’s picked through each piece to see which is a thigh and now contaminated the whole box. Don’t have fries or a big bag of chips either because you know she just dips her hand in and takes a handful out at a time.

On that note, it was a few weeks ago and I was helping someone with their computer at work. Dude flat out offers me I think it was some grapes out of a sandwich bag he’s snacking on under his mask. I just said no thanks and kept to myself but in my mind I’m flabbergasted that you would think a stranger would want something that you’re putting your hands all on during a pandemic no less. Made me sick a little bit

A lot of nasty mf in here, I dont trust work fridges in general so I would never consider eating someone else's mystery food.

Before I left work for my disability time off this past January, I brought in a few cans of a lemon sparkling water (the no sugar type as I don't drink sugary beverages. Made the switch November 1, 2019 and feel good not drinking sugary beverages). Went to the mini fridge and both were gone! I was PISSED!!! It's a brand (Spindrift) that you can't just get a can anywhere. For the most time, it only comes in an 8-pack. I was bummed for the rest of the day.

That crap I NEVER understood! I was brought up to NEVER touch anything that isn't yours. And this goes for food/drinks as well. Anyone who does this and doesn't own up to it and apologize, is a dang coward!

some of y'all i don't get. I could never touch someone else's lunch mainly because i have a hard time eating food other people make period. **** is gross and some people are gross so i couldn't. Also like at my current job everyone uses the fridge and the microwave grosses me out so i only bring things i can keep in my lunchbox in my office and **** that doesn't need to be reheated.

I copped a little desk fridge to store my stuff in because I don’t trust people. I use to go out and pick up food before covid but now I’m just in the office for a few hours then eat when I’m back home

Def might invest in one of these. I travel to locations for work but 3 days out of the week im in one office might get it for there.

I keep drinks in mine so I don’t have to deal with thieves swiping them from the community fridge but I do occasionally keep a meal in there. Just gotta make sure I hit the microwave after the cleaning crew comes and wipes things down.

Not sure which is worse, heating up seafood in the microwave or not cleaning it after your food explodes in it. I swear I hate people

I been legit ready to throw hands with people who do that. I remember at one of my old jobs, I was working the service desk which was similar to apple’s Genius Bar and we had a micro and fridge behind us. One dude decided to reheat some calamari and literally had the whole floor smelling like the wharf. Everybody cursed his *** out.

If your fridge is in the office, then it's still a community fridge.

I'm well within my right to put what I want in that community fridge and take what I want from that community fridge.

Seafood smell doesn't even bother me like that, but I wouldn't bring it work because I know it irks people.

my boss had to buy a separate microwave because some employees were heating up fish and seafood in the microwave. also, he couldn't stand the smell of curry :lol

Not if there's a padlock on it

If there are leftovers from a potluck or catering that week and it's a Friday, I definitely go in because it's just gonna get thrown out anyway. I've taken home boxes of pizzas, 3/4 of a cake, etc. That's it though, I'm not taking people's individual lunches

This might have been discussed in the potluck thread but it's always been fascinating to me how obsessed people are with free food at work. I used to help run a weekly "Lunch and Learn" VOLUNTARY training series. We would get pizza, fruit, salad, drinks, etc. for folks who attended in person or you could attend via WebEx. Folks complained about the pizza, asked for other food options, requested toppings, etc. In my mind, I'm just thinking bruh...this entire event is voluntary and the food is free. If you got demands, the cafeteria is 30 seconds away

Even after luncheons or other events, when the food hits the break rooms, people swarm it. Early in my career there was a distribution list I was on titled "FNN (Food Network Now)" and people would send out e-mail blasts about where and when free food popped up around campus

Somebody took my homie’s already opened salsa out the work fridge and he was hot. Hopped in the department slack channel and everything.

Dude up there saying he takes people stuff out the fridge cuz it’s “community” is wild.
