I like GapFlex chinos with a straight leg.
I've been eyeing these because of the recurring sale price. Might check some out this weekend.

Have been wearing JCrew chinos, but I'm not trying to pay those prices if I could find an alternative at a great price.

Sidenote: Uniqlo tees just don't fit the same anymore. Bought a Uniqlo U shirt and it legit feels tapered.

Used a gift card I got for my birthday to get some new work shirts to try from Banana Republic Factory. All are size large tall. Wore em all this week and here’s what I thought:

1. Dark Blue dress shirt. Feels great materials are really nice and for a somewhat simple shirt it looks classy and stood out compared to other people’s dress shirts. Fit is great and the extra length meant that it doesn’t pop out when I lift my arms like other dress shirts I’ve tried. Definitely will get more for the rotation.

2. Cream and brown Linen blend shirt. Materials feel decent and length is great. I did have issues of it bunching up right where it was tucked in so I had to keep readjusting throughout the day so it didn’t look weird. Might have to rock it untucked or do a full linen shirt from actual Banana Republic to see if it makes a difference in the cut.

3. Light blue ribbed shirt. I really liked the ribbed shirt as it’s good for casual Friday while still looking like I didn’t just throw a T shirt on. Also pairs well with my Legend Blue 11s. While I do like the added length of the tall I don’t like the sleeves as they are also a bit longer than the regular length shirt. I’ll definitely buy more but in regular length.

I recently snagged a pair of Meermin loafers.

My third pair of Meermins and they continue to impress me. I’ve been wearing them into an office with slacks/button up but I think they could be worn casually as well.

I have 3 pairs of oxfords and a pair of loafers. Every time I go to a wedding all the guys are complaining about their feet hurting. My feet never hurt in Meermins

I ended up ordering Scarrosso loafers. Very happy I did, the fit and quality is perfect.

Any recommendations for jeans with room in the thighs and a tapered leg?

I've historically had trouble with Levi's but recently, after losing quite a lot of weight, decided I needed something more tapered and found 502s - medium rise, not baggy plenty of room in the seat and thighs for my cyclist's legs, and a nice taper. I got mine in dark blue which I like - and for more money they do a fancy made in Japan version.

For tons more money I recently found that Levi's do bespoke jeans - you have to go to San Francisco, New York or London to get measured and can choose everything about how you want them.

Got a splash of bleach on my pants when I was cleaning something. Any way to reverse or minimize it? Put vinegar on it to neutralize the bleach

Nope, they're always going to be like that. I did that to some jeans I liked a while ago - ended up trying to dye the pale parts and it didn't really work.

Subscribed for the chino talk. Need some navy jawns in a light fabric for office summer Fridays.

Ended up grabbing some LL Bean Double L chinos and so far I’m impressed. They’re just the right fit for an office - not too skinny but definitely not too wide or boxy. 100% cotton at $55 is a strong value.

Wore some patent leather meermins to a black tie event this weekend and my feet felt far better than I expected.

My Meermin loafers are still breaking in a bit on the right heel but the shape and size is perfect for some loafers.

I’ve started wearing Fat Face chinos and like them - they’re definitely on the casual side but smarter than jeans. So far I have navy, tan, and light grey/blue. My only criticism is that the cut is totally different between each pair. I like the tan the best as a color and they’re not bad but slightly wider than I’d like. The grey/blue ones are a perfect fit but not the best color, and the navy ones are just a touch too narrow - they look okay but are just snug.

I don’t know why - I guess it’s just like a lot of jeans where the cut has changed slightly over the years or different factories produce variations.
