Trends swing from side to side. I would rock slim or slightly loose pants since I love both look. I don't know if anyone remembers Dawson's Creek. Their wardrobe was done by J. Crew and was rather loose. Certainly not today's J. Crew.

Dang. I was going to recommend H&M for a quick fix but I don't think you'll fit into them since you bodybuild. A lot of firms and folks think black is formal attire. Others think it is suited for funerals and waiters.

Black jeans are the only black pants I own :lol

:lol at serving water. Would you like a scoop of whey protein to go with your water, sir?

I have a pair of black slacks from Express that fit pretty well. I've never worn them to any event though...There's maybe one dress shirt in my wardrobe that would look good with them :lol

Thanks for both of these suggestions. You're right, I might have a hard time with H&M I have a hard enough time with Gap. Never tried Express but I'll check it out. I'm the same, only black pants I own are jeans and workout pants.

If you're just getting them for that purpose, I don't like Express but I'd say that's a good option if you can get them for cheap. Also, if you have a Macy's nearby, Alfani pants can be decent for not a lot of money and you can probably find coupons online.

Slim fit & polyester though

I agree...I could never wear super slim pants to begin with (personal preference). I've always worn pants that fit...even during the days of JNCO and "Houser" times. Shout out to my mom who wouldn't buy me what I wanted and only bought me clothes that fit me :lol

And just in case anyone was wondering, the brands of those photos I posted are Mark McNairy/BBC, Journal Standard, Visvim, and Neighborhood respectively.

In regards to the last few pages, I think that what Wis said is correct but I also want to implore our gentlemen/brotherhood here to not take things to personally after all it is just the internet. In addition, remember guys that reacting just incites people to come and troll even more.

Likewise. For high end clothes, I'd go bespoke or even MTM since you can configure more. With avant garde stuff, I may bite the bullet if the prices are good enough.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way about high-end clothing or items. Personally, I can care-less about the name brand in terms of clothes especially if I'm going to spend $1200+ on a suit from Gucci, etc. then I'm going bespoke instead.

Speaking of high end, anyone here had any bad experiences in high end stores?

I'm always treated very nicely at Emporio Armani but Gucci is straight up full of extremely arrogant people.

I was in the Gucci store with a friend (female) who dresses in vintage type clothing and some employee straight up told her to leave because "if you can't afford it don't come here". She has a 100K+ inheritage lol.

i rarely go into high end stores just to browse. if i go in i know what i'm looking for and head straight to it and ask. salesperson was a little OD tho to your home girl

I had my Gucci belt on and he didn't say anything to me even though I was with her. Straight up disrespectful.

I often have a browse in luxury stores just to see what's up and I've never been treated like this besides in the Gucci store in Antwerp.

Most bespoke start at like 3k+, though
1.2k is more MTM

MTM is not in that range from my experience, Indochino, SuitSupply and Thick As Thieves being examples of this. Bespoke can be in that 3K range but not usually. I know my first bespoke suit was north of $2500 because of the basted fitting (pattern making) which that alone was $1K. At least where I go, Mcihael Andrews Bespoke (same place that Dan from TSB gets his), the two fabrics I'm deciding between for my next suit, one is $1400 and the other $1600 for the suit. The basted fitting is only done the first time you are going bespoke.

No doubt.

The biggest turn off about high end suits for me is that if I'm paying good money for a suit, I want the lapel hole and button holes to be actual holes, not just mock stitching.

Catching up on the thread...about the undershirts. What type of deodorant/antiperspirant you guys using? I know that aluminum is the main factor to give guys the piss color armpit stains lol

Uniqlo is opening a new store in palisade center ny, the grand opening specials apply to all stores. The linen shirts are down to $20 from $30, scooped up white, purple, green & a plaid pattern. Also, styleforum is buzzing with the slim fit oxford button downs for $30, the auality & fit are awesome, picked up blue & white.

I always go dressed like a bum anywhere I`m about to spend alot of money at. A Black dude dressed in sweats and house shoes, ain't nobody tryna help me. So the person that does help me deserves what ever commission, or sales numbers they get from me.

I wear the gray undershirts from Lands Ends and Use Women's Secret powder fresh or unscented when I wear cologne. I also have Izod body spray which is similar to Axe.
