Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Just tried on a blazer at Macy's today, sorry for the blury pics.

What do yall think about the fit.

Nothing really fits me good, everywhere I go they tell me they don't have suits that fit me so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to everything to the tailor anyway. :rolleyes

Really hard to tell because of your pose and blurriness of pics ... but from what i can see ... shoulders may be a tad too structured for your physique. I'd swap out the buttons for something for versatile (brown horn for F/W ... or white MOP for S/S). Better shots will help give more accurate feedback.

Yeah I like the gold buttons, I think the shoulders were too wide, and the arms are definitely too wide.

My arm started moving so, that caused more blurriness.

I will be using this fit as inspiration in the future :lol
Can I get info on the blazer and shirt?

hey OMG - blazer and shirt are both bespoke commissions from last year. The jacket is a navy hopsack and the shirt is a cotton gingham.

Not sure how to phrase this question but does the type of collar your shirt is matter with the tie? if the shirt is spread collar or slim point type you wouldn't wear a skinny tie (2 ½" width)

I thought that moreso applied to the actual tie knot, not the width....I think width (size) should be equal to the lapel size so if you have a wide lapel blazer/suit jacket then you wouldn't wear a skinny tie. But with the shirt collar I think certain knots fill up the space better and frame your face...spread collars have a significant gap so you probably wouldn't go with a small four-in-hand knot for that, but a windsor wouldn't work with a narrower collar type either.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the type of collar needs to be consistent with the tie knot, not the tie itself. If you're wearing a jacket, the tie width at it's widest point should match the lapel width

it closes right over left man. only womens clothes do that. it's fairly obvious dude.
Bingo. But most folks don't know this "rule" I think. Women on the other hand can get away with wearing men's stuff :lol

Today:

I know the color of the suit will be a love/hate thing :lol

Great fits/pickups the last few pages. Had a lot to catch up on. :lol

Had a great Valentines Day ;)
