You need to take at least a couple of days off to rest your body, dude.This. I started this Year at 200+, now im at 157.
Just started eating Healthy and made a habit of working out. Now If I don't get to the Gym or Run at least 2 miles I get antsy. I've tried to take a day off and wake up in the middle of the night to run. I just feel like if I'm not improving, I'm going backwards.
Woodlands has quite a few models for the Danner boots.anyone know where i could find these?
i saw them on the wrongwroks site but they dont have my size
LV and Lanvins take their silhouette from Converse and other brands. I just feel that the when I dress up or get casual I choose to wear loafers or wingtips. High end sneakers just don't fit into my wardrobe. And to the WJ4 weight loss.
Looks like you were a Big Momma suit in those old pics.
At the end of the day, it wasn't really about designer shoes, people always get that concept confused. It's about the silhouette and the last and the style. A huge, bulky pair of Air Jordans or Air Max that has weird designs and a bunch of different colors just isn't ideal unlike Jack Purcells or Nike Janoskis that provide a slimmer, more low-profile and much more simple design.
I think the sneaker advice got distorted because a few posted and suggested Lanvins or LV and I am guilty of that as well but it is what I wear so it is what I posted. It was only meant to show an example. If someone asks me for a cheaper alternative though, I always try to help and my go to sneaker suggestion is always a pair of Jack Purcells, which is just about perfect at a real great pricepoint (I own a handful of pairs myself). I've actually been wearing Free Runs for errands lately, it just being light and well vented works well for the heat.
props my man. biggest i've ever been was 240+ a lil' over only couple months back. now im under the 200s and aiming for 180 as my ideal goal weight but hope to go lower and maintain it. still working on it but this is an inspiration and its like what im going through right now. props to you man. i was up to waist size 36-40 now at 33-34 which feels great. back to dressing better topic though. anyone know if its possible to make sleeves slimmer? picked up a cardigan and the sleeves are massive on me. is it possible to get it tailored?Grizz: The 2nd picture was the straw that broke the camel's back, my man. Throughout HS, I was around 180 lbs. I got up to about 220 lbs during the 2nd and 3rd year of undergrad because of late night eating out and alcohol and such. I stopped eating junk food, soda, and alcohol. I started doing Muay Thai...it was the ultimate work out, it puts crossfit to shame. I used to come home with bruises and cuts all the time, and I loved it. I really learned how to kick butt though. I originally wanted to go down to my HS weight. I was losing about 20 lbs a month or so. I think I got down to around 155 lbs within a year. And several more months, I got down to 140 lbs. My friends swore I was on coke or had a lipo suction
A year a part:
The lost weight happened at the end of my undergrad career so none of the clothes fit anymore. I started reading up on GQ and such to redo my wardrobe. This was around the same time the Dressing Better thread 1 started and the rest happened naturally.
This may be of help to you. So many folks asked me how I did it so I wrote a blog entry on it.

@WJ4...congrats on making it to your goal weight. I'm still working hard on getting to mine.
Undergrad was just too good to me, the drinks, parties, late night eating...and the extra bit of weight has stuck with me, but the new lifestyle has helped quite a bit.
Nonetheless.
My girl picked me up a new pair.
Inspired by the thread once again. The two blogs are about my progress to this point:
I went to the local mall and I see Topman and Top Shop are set to open. You guys may want to check that out. It's the UK's version of H&M, pretty popular store.
Major props on the weight loss bro. I'm trying to do the same, since I've been an undergrad I've gained 70 lbs :x
Props though
The best investment you can make in is yourself. If you're in your 20s to mid 30s, there's no reason you can't get into shape with good effort.Jesus Christ, that's a lot of weight.
I wish you the best. Please don't give up. not for the sake of dressing better, but for the sake of your health
wanted something comfortable so i went with chucks, sweat shorts, tee and cotton-piqué blazer. dont't know why but on this picture the end of my sleeves looks wider then they are.
meet up a girl im seeing, we just chilled at dock by the boats and took a long walk.Where did you go with this fit?wanted something comfortable so i went with chucks, sweat shorts, tee and cotton-piqué blazer. dont't know why but on this picture the end of my sleeves looks wider then they are.
I don't understand the point of the blazer.
i don't know fam, dressing better is defined different for everyone, hence why i liked it and you didn't, but thats the beauty of it. just rock what you feel like wearing and be you, even if you have to break the "rules".This can't be considered dressing better...can it? I dunno that just doesn't look right to me with the blazer and shorts.Where did you go with this fit?wanted something comfortable so i went with chucks, sweat shorts, tee and cotton-piqué blazer. dont't know why but on this picture the end of my sleeves looks wider then they are.
