Who washes their clothes in cold water? Does it clean just as good as warm or hot water? Trying to preserve my black clothes from fading

I always use cold water, except for blankets and towels etc.

Haven't noticed any difference in cleanliness.

They say wash black clothing inside out in cold water.

Hot water may shrink your clothes, and it can deteriorate certain materials over time.

Most of my clothes are expensive, so I wash them cold. Just to keep the gym clothes lasting longer I wash everything in cold water, sometimes warm.

Any reccs on a travel bag. A small one though, carry passport/phone/water bottle. Thought about a Fanny pack or maybe a one of those small supreme sling bags but was wondering if I could find something nicer instead.
