What shoes are y'all rocking when going out, say like a higher-end bar/club? You guys got beaters on deck?

Lighter colors like khaki and light gray. Fabric is also as important though. What's a good summer suit color to wear to a wedding in a humid climate?
I'm convinced you dress far better than any of us.....you just won't let us see
Just kidding , I do well for myself but I'm viewed as super frugal to my friends and colleagues; I've never and could never buy a pair of Ferragamos, Tods or Bally's, I work close by the Tods store and really like their shoes but feel a bit guilty paying $450 for a pair of driving shoes that I would wear sparingly and only on weekends
The east coast RFX. Down to the you won't let us see it part.
Not that I'm a big spender but I've grown a bit bored with clothing. I once wanted bespoke suits but now I'm content with J. Crew items. I no longer have the desire to own high tier footwear as well like I once did.
Armoury opened a branch in NY now for all the ballers out there. I think their suits, which are bespoke, are around $5k or so though.
I thrifted some joints to go out in.
I'm either in Hugo Boss, To Boot Bew York, or AE. Together I paid under $20

I agree and disagree, while I do buy most of my stuff for work, I do not believe you have to wear those brands to fit in the office but I recognize that there is sort of a "uniform" in most settings.I share the same beliefs as you. Unfortunately, I buy all the stuff I buy because of work. One of the downsides of Front Office I suppose.
I honestly think a pair of Kenneth Cole sneakers would do the trick for you. They have low profile sneakers that are pretty inexpensive. I'm married now, but when I was scouring the clubs looking for women they never asked what brand shoe I was in. But as long as you are stylish but not too trendy you should be fine. Also, If you can thrift/e-thrift a pair of really nice shoes I say go for it. With your budget around $60 to $80 would do the trick.:x that cash flow though.
I only have AE's and I couldn't fathom wearing those to go out to a bar or club. I want to change it up at times from my usual DB's, but not sure if I should thrift/eBay some beaters or get inferior quality shoes, like the JCP brand Stafford, for those occasions.

All of my dress shoes are ~$250 from AE, my shirts are ~$80 from Kamukara and my suits are from a former colleague who started his own custom clothing shop so he provides me a great F&F discount. While I was in IB, I did not stick out like a sore thumb by wearing this, I work at a hedge fund now so it's a lot more casual and I typically wear a dress shirt, trousers and AE loafers
On your point on thrift shops in NYC, there are a few in the East Village that sometimes have gems, but most mostly in non-popular sizes

I'd buy someone's who already received their order but are unhappy about measurements.^I was under the impression that TOJ was done for some reason. No?
Yep. They stopped taking order. Drew no longer has interest in the field and is focusing on his restaurants. He tried selling the business but didn't land a deal he liked so TOJ is shutting down for now.^I was under the impression that TOJ was done for some reason. No?
That would look horrible. Just sell them and lurk for TOJ on the secondary market.I really regret not getting a DR from TOJ.
I own 3 Schott perfectos, but they just don't look as clean as a TOJ. I was thinking of removing the epaulets/collar snaps and having a leather specialist patch up the holes they'll leave.

Hank: Armoury is top end stuff. It caters to the top tier of Hong Kong folks and then came to the states. I know they have a lot or backing financially and that really separates them from the other niche stores. I would probably never shop there since I have no desire to own $5k suits and bespoke shoes. The brand does get an approval from even the most uptight SF dudes so I'm sure you can't go wrong.
Re: buying clothes. I've amassed a good wardrobe since 2009 or so. I would rather use the money to travel or save up. I no longer care much if my jacket is fully canvassed or half. And yes I've heard of Bonobo.
Worst. Show. Ever.
Does the Nordstrom mens sale get progressively better? Is it possible to see it at 50% instead of 40%?
Yeah. Deepest it goes is around 65 percent I believe.yes, every week or so the items that didn't sell will be reduced further. Most of the good stuff gets scooped up right away though
You're only 24, man and you got the lux sneakers.I've BEEN saying this. Still have not even bought a single suit since being employed (as an intern at least) in 2009. Eventually I plan to work for myself and will be wearing my casual clothes daily any way. Until then I only need a few suits to get me by. I also want two more pairs of dress shoes (one black; one dark drown) since I wear my walnut strands or beeswax DB daily.
