Oh, dear God...make it stop.
Anyone know of the popular brand or style of boat shoes that these are?
I remember seeing a pair I liked in the past but can't remember the brand.
SNL skit is pretty funny
Where's the mens wearhouse though? It has potential..their commercials are always corny as is especially with the deep voiced narrator.
Charcol or navy > black suits in every situation.. From a purely practical strand point , both navy and charcoal give a person the most options. They both can be accessorized with a multitude of colors in regards to shoes, shirts, ties, etc. In addition, both suit types can be worn on any occasion. In contrast, black suits have a very limited color spectrum In regards to shoes, leathers, accessories, shirts, ties, etc. For example, black suits are extremely difficult to wear with brown , burgundy, tan, or any shades of shoes and accessories that are lighter than black..Although, I do agree with your idea of a black suit being very crisp and nice looking, navy and charcoal will always be a better option for a "workhorse"/ everyday wear suit.
That doesn't sound too bad, especially given the uncommon width. Finally bit on the Walnut AE strands but wanted to know if this was a decent deal. Paid $237 shipped with taxes from amazon for a size 8EEE and they aren't seconds.
Wayment, aren't you an average sized dude? Why you rocking with a 3E width??

Personally, I would never pay over $200 for a pair of AE. This is because if I were to spend over $200, I'd rather just save up and go with a middle tier brand.
I ordered from RL and got these Garvie Monk-Straps
Finally opened em up and I don't know how noticeable it is in the pic but:
There are two major creases in the leather, clearly not from wear as the run along the top of the shoe. They're calf but the same might apply, I was under the impression that what looks like stretch marks or some **** usually comes from the low quality hide around the head/neck.
I called about exchanging them but because they were on that discount (they called it unauthorized and essentially tried to guilt trip me), I can't even exchange them. I've got an idea but it's still a pain in the ***, I'd take some AE 2nds before keeping that.
What's the price range of a middle tier brand ?
Yeah, crease isn't the correct term...I don't know how to describe it, more like wrinkles that were in the hide or something. I think I can figure something out but if it comes down to it I'll do what you said. It's actually way more obvious in person, I only had my iPhone on me. They were a little under $250 I believe so it's a pretty good price, I just expected better.
I understand its the principle but youre gonna get those same creases the first time you wear them anyway, why go through the trouble?
Well said. I would put AE and Meermin as entry level. Alden, Carmina, Crockett and Jones, both bench and Handgrade, etc. would be mid.edit: actually, it's not that easy to put out a price.
I would put C&J in as mid tier but their stuff is priced like 600 or more to the 700s now i think, same with Alden. I'm not too sure on prices but im pretty sure most of aldens are above 500
you got the bottom level like meermin and allen edmond which is probably ~300 or so retail but i dont think there are many in the 400-500 range
See above. What's the price range of a middle tier brand ?
This issue would personally not bother me at all. But, I'm pretty easy to please. I had a similar effect on a pair of C&J and kept them.I understand its the principle but youre gonna get those same creases the first time you wear them anyway, why go through the trouble?
That's their bread and butter. This and their usual 40% off full price items once a month or so keep the boat afloat I think.Banana Republic is running a 40% off everything sale till Midnight
