DJ Premier & Royce Da 5'9" "PRhyme 2"(March 16)2nd single - Rock It

Very good album. Have no complaints at all other than I wish "U Looz" was longer.
tell me about it

Album arrived today (amazon) but I had already listened to it a couple times on NPR.  Top 3 of the year, easily.

Combat jack had them over for an interview and listening session... Sounds really dope.

^ Just listened to the boiler room set. DAMN, why is this album so good. That Courtesy beat gets me every time.
PRhyme Interrupt Phonte Interview
A few days ago, before the New Year, theSTASHED  was interviewing Phonte on Black Dynamite, his alter egos and more (see below) when PRhyme  unexpectedly walked in, mid-session.

What emerged from the encounter was an off-the-cuff conversation that any Hip-Hop head would enjoy. The three spoke about how their (Tigallo & Royce's) working relationship came to fruition, how Premo (who has the memory of an elephant) & Phonte met, fatherhood and the three possibly collaborating on something in the future.

Premo also mentions a bonus album with extra tracks is in the works, due out sometime in February, although he won't disclose who the features are. PRhyme  is out now. SHAKE UPDATE: During an interview with the New York Observer, Premo revealed that DOOM was one of the featured artists on the upcoming deluxe edition.
The album’s doing really good. We’re shooting a video for every song on it and Royce and I are hitting the road in February. We’re also getting ready to release the deluxe version with three to five new cuts on it. I can’t name all of the artists on it, but we’ve got MF Doom on one. We’re putting that out on 45-inch box set and digital.

1st PRhyme, & now B4.DA.$$ on the 20th...great time to be a true hiphop head & PREEMO fan (he's got a track on Joey's album) :smokin

Had a terrible experience at Highline Ballroom last time I was there but I'll probably still have to go for PRhyme

Mind sharing? I'll be there for the PRhyme show in Feb.

It was for the dollar and a dream J. Cole show so obviously it was wild waiting to get into the show because of how many people showed up but I can't see that happening for PRhyme. When we got in and thought we were good to smoke (few songs into the opening act) we get approached by security telling us we have to go. My friend offer to pay him and gave him the little bit of cash he had lt left. ($5). So later in the show we thought we were good to go because of how excited the bouncer was when we gave him $5. So we start to smoke again while cole is on and he comes over to me I'm holding it telling me I gotta go. I told him my friend just paid him and he plays dumb so I give him another 2 dollars. We keep smoking and he leaves of alone. Try to smoke for a third time with maybe 2-3 songs left towards the end and this bum *** bouncer comes over again. At this point were done paying him we tap it out and he awkwardly stand next to us telling us we gotta go. We stayed standing there and after a song of standing next to us he just walks away. There was no fighting any of this because there were at least 5 bouncers around and they all look like ex NFL O-lineman so if you **** with one of them you **** with them all. Other than that its a small, cool place to catch a show. You'll be nice and close no matter where youre at.

Of course all this gets avoided if we decide not to smoke but its a rap show so **** that.

I actually went to the first dollar and a dream show which I think was also at Highline...that's like right when he really got popular. I told myself that night it would be the last Cole show I go to.:lol

Been there a few times and always smelled bud. That's a given at a rap show. Hell, people lit up at MSG and Yankee Stadium at shows I've been to. Dude was top flight security of the world, apparently.:lol

I think people would describe those as "old dusty NY beats", which i actually don't agree with :lol love this album
