^^^HAHAHA at first I thought son was finna run to first base!!

Hamed retired too early in my opinion.  I doubt he ever would've fought above 130 due to his small frame, but he could've rematched MAB, and prepared harder.  His talent, athleticism, punching power, charisma and heart couldn't be questioned.  He was a true superstar, and one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.  I guess he just lacked the will to keep going. Regardless, Prince Naseem Hamed will be remembered as one of the best showmen in the history of boxing and should make it into the HOF.

This probably should be in the boxing thread, but oh well.

^Hamed was garbage man, and a disgrace to boxing. He dodged any good real competition and got WRECKED by the first real boxer he fought, Marco Antonio Barrera, then he retired. He was a minimally talented showboat, and I will never consider him a real boxer.

Minimally talented?  Certainly not from a physical standpoint.  I already said he was mentally weak, which is why he didn't rematch Barrera; but talent and excitement wise, he was right up there with the best during the time he was active.  And his first tough test was when he came to America for the first time to fight against Kevin Kelley for the Featherweight title, who at the time had a professional record of 47-1-2.  Hamed ended up knocking him out in the 4th round. Let me also add, I never referred to him as a pure boxer in the mold of a Sugar Ray Robinson, Pernell Whitaker or Floyd Mayweather Jr., so I'm not sure where the "real" boxer part came from.
